Comments: [f] yonge waiting for pride

Ooh a Pride parade photo! I wish I could go :-( I'm stuck here in Windsor with a French test looming next week! May be next year I'll make it!

Oh, thanks for the jpeg :)

Is that picture a year old, or is Lord of the Rings coming out this December??

I saw the LOTR ad and wondered the same thing. In some of the poorer neighborhoods in NYC the movie ads in the subway stations aren't changed very frequently, but this doesn't look like a poor neighborhood.

Another question: I couldn't tell from the distance, but would the parade be approaching from the background, or coming from behind the camera? People are looking both ways.

Frank: The LOTR poster has been up FOREVER. I don't know why they won't take it down, and yeah, it's an affluent area. The photo was taken before the parade actually started - later, the parade came from the direction the camera's pointing in.

Sam: I absolutely love this photo. You captured the vast number of people (1 million estimated!) that attended. I'm looking forward to more Pride photos in the coming days.

I love the FLASH function.keee

Actually, the parade comes from behind the camera. It goes south along Yonge, not north.

Again with the magnifier! How cool is this! I should be packing for a trip right now but of course I'm wasting time on the net.

that idea with zoom is great!

I love the flash effect. I missed the Seattle Pride parade because I was sitting behind a booth at the rest of the fair :(.

Nice picture. The flash magnifier thing is so cool. Was the pride parade any good?

If you take away those highrise buildings in the horizon, it looks like a deprived area

what a FLASH amazing effect! i´m speachless!! congratulations.

Misha, this is actually the busiest part of the city, the very center of downtown Toronto. You can see the spot where WVS was standing when he took that shot of the kid hangin out the limo window.

are you allowed to climb over the fence to take this pic?

btw I really prefer the high resolution version, tho' I thought the magnifier thingy is kinda cool.

Sam was in disguise as one of the drag queen and that's how he could mix into the parade and take this picture. U know the one with extreme big boobs.

I love the magnifier option! Nice use of Flash that isn't overwhelming!
