holy crap! that looks like a counter full of peanuts! that's one heck of a macro shot.

ok , now i'm scared of bagels. i'll have a BLT without the bagle please.

Posted by Behr.o0o.z at January 21, 2004 01:37 AM

That's stonking. What _are_ the brown nut-like bits? Here in the UK a bagel's still pretty unimaginative, so I'm intrigued...

LOL I agree with Behr.o0o.z

they're probably poppy seeds.. looked like raisins to me at first. i too am intrigued and also scared of bagels (who knew they looked so freaky close up)?

Posted by Emily at January 21, 2004 07:03 AM

If poppy seeds look like that on a bagel, what do you think they look like stuck in your teeth? Cool shot!

Posted by Eric at January 21, 2004 07:30 AM

Now I'm not usually a huge fan of macro shots, but damn if that doesn't look cool as hell! Such detail. Question again on the technique - did you use a close-up filter?

Posted by Houser at January 21, 2004 07:32 AM

they remind me of pods like from Invasion of the body snatchers or Aliens or something...eeek!

very cool shot!

So carbs are not only the enemy, but they're curiously ugly, too.
It seems to me that someone never heeded his mother's requests to not play with his food. Thanks for your insubordination. Great shot.

Any chance of getting the top one as a desktop? What up with your aforementioned wallpaper section?

Posted by houser at January 21, 2004 08:56 AM

holy crap that is cool. I honestly could have looked at that pic for a week and not known it was a bagel. what lense did you use?

Posted by mlong at January 21, 2004 10:48 AM

I want your camera, and your macro lens, goddamit. Wish I could do that with my point and shoot thingy.

Posted by White Chocolate at January 21, 2004 03:19 PM

Wow! I will never look at poppy seeds the same way again.

These remind me of the opening sequence of Fight Club. Brilliant!

Posted by kat at January 21, 2004 03:52 PM

Posted by ecila at January 21, 2004 05:14 PM

Wow - great deatil, color and lighting. I had no idea that's what poppy seeds look like. This can't be the standard zoom that came with your camera. Good luck on the bloggies BTW.
