Comments: Rainy Flatiron

I love the fog above, the light below. I get a strong feel of a springtime moment.

Quite amazing how effective B&W can be in an age when color is the common. When I started taking photos 66 years ago, color was not so common, like in the newspaper where it was rare and low quality. Now the color in newspapers is knockout. But I like the energy this shot has with car lights reflecting on the wet road. There's a richness in the contrast.

Congratulations. Yet another excellent interpretation of this often photographed view.
Your photos always delight.

A beautiful, and dramatic capture of just a part of this historic area of downtown Toronto.
I am sure there are people who would be interested to know that when the Rockerfeller brothers saw this Flatiron building, that it was the inspiration for them to build the famous Flatiron in New York.

Great contrast of the bright fog above and the crisp, hi-contrast B&W below. It remind me of photos of rainy 19th C streets in Paris.

This looks like a beautiful postcard I may find in some European shop. (I mean that in a complimentary way, I swear.) Love it!!

Nice image, Sam. For me, this immediately evokes Paris.

fantastic!

Gorgeous, silver tones. Interesting contrasts too: new – surrounding buildings, cars VS old – the old being the central focus, the silver-gelatin-like tones. The old building, below the mist, is almost like a mirage. Sort of a magical-realism feel.
