Comments: election protest

Uh, what is wrong with these people? If they want their vote counted, they can move to Iran...

Where is her vote? She doesn't live in Iran.

thanks a lot for posting these photos in your blog. now that there is a widespread censorship in Iran and international reporters are asked to leave the country; letting people know about the news is a great help.

I'm delighted to see so many people protesting. I hope there are similar protests in the the US. As of this morning Supreme Leader Khamenei orders vote rigging probe. Wow, this is big news. http://bit.ly/3x210o

Wow. I read the goings-on in the link you provided yesterday to those live-blogging from Iran, and I just thank God that those in Canada who need to protest can do so in peace and freedom.

These are wonderful photographs. I hope that they reach people in Iran over the internet. What a contrast these photographs are with with the one on the front page of The Globe today. We are fortunate to live in a country where we have the freedom to protest and the right to vote and have our vote count. Finally, I hope that all those who did not vote in past Canadian elections do so. It is a right and priviledge that others do not have. Our voter turnout is a disgrace especially when others vote and it does not really count.

It seems expectable that the majority of the Iranians in Canada would be anti Ahmadinejad and one might well wonder how the non-resident vote would be handled. Dumped?

The result is surely questionable.

Great photos! I haven't heard much about this and was quite surprised to see such a large crowd. Thanks for sharing!

Outstanding coverage. That is an awesome turnout for the protest. I hope the best for the people of Iran during this tumultuous time and I hope their voices are truly heard.

It's not that I'm unsympathetic, and I'm not suggesting that demonstrating is wrong, but I'm thinking that maybe "Where is my vote?" is not the smartest rallying cry for a demonstration protesting election results back home in Iran. Let's face it, expats are understood to have "voted with their feet" long ago....

Regardless, love your crowd shots. You've got the knack of finding and isolating individuals from the multitude.

Can we get the hi-res on flickr? I want to post then on Facebook.

These are the photos of Iran before islamic revolution.

Would give you an idea of how that country was looked like back than.

Great photos, and all support for the protesters.

Your last photo is a nice bit of commentary.

Clearly, your vote is for freedom, family, tradition, love and togetherness.

Let's hear it for Toronto!

Really great photos.

I wrote an article on my personal blog, I hope it is not a problem: http://www.amnesiakblog.net/2009/06/15/a-toronto-si-protesta-contro-le-elezioni-iraniane/

I just wanted to say these shots are amazing as are so many of your others. I look forward to your daily posts.

To those that don't understand the nature of this protest or have "go back to Iran" attitudes, why don't you use that freedom of access to information that we all apparently take for granted and learn a little about what's happening over in Iran and WHY. Knowledge and understanding breeds compassion and acceptance. I think Toronto needs a little more of this.
