I've been reading your photo blog for some time now~~cause I came to Canada last year and was in Toronto for six months before moving to Waterloo. And today I was right there around the corner! lol.

The car in the last shot looks like a stretch limo that has been stretched too far

The question is, "Where is the Blue side of the portal?"

Posted by Sam MacCutchan at March 24, 2008 07:38 AM

Ha! Now you have to go find the other end.

I pretty much love you for catching the Weighted Companion Cube.
Amazing eye, Sam!

That's awesome! I wonder if there is another portal at the destination. From the red sign 'Florida Jacks' it sounds like it should be at yonge and bloor (782 Yonge Street).

The question now is: where is the other half?

I would think that they would have put the other half of the cube at another location. Furthermore, that location is shown in the portals background.

that's the coolest thing i've seen all day. thanks for the interesting morning.

There is also one of these above the door of the now closed Toby's on the east side of Yonge just south of Bloor. Thanks for explaining what it is. This one has a different background also.

One wonders where the counterpart to that portal is...

Nice find! I am assuming there is a matching blue-portal with a small section of the companion cube somewhere in town; across the street from "____ Bar & Eatery"? Have you seen the blue rendition yet?

Excellent shots as usual by the way. I love how all of your (non-snowy) exposures have a nice blue sky, and never are washed out. Keep up the great urban photography work!

I'm making a note here, huge success.

I love your work and amazing shots you upload each day. However, this was a triumph!

Haha this is amazing! Nice find! Looks like people have spotted the other end at Yonge and Bloor.

And great portal references in the other comments. ;)

Anyone that's near there should find that other half and snap a picture of it, I'd love to see it.

It's hard to overstate my satisfaction.

Posted by GLaDOS at March 24, 2008 07:22 PM

I did in fact see the companion portal at Yonge & Bloor today during lunch. On Yonge, East side, a few doors down.
