Posted by Kristof at August 13, 2007 05:49 AMBeautifull! I have some butterflies in my portfolio, includind that (the monarch). But unfortunately, I don't have a 105mm yet...
Posted by Nuno Barreto at August 13, 2007 07:30 AMI just wanted to say "Thanks Sam". I've been longing for some bright and colourful nature shots. They brighten up the day. Very lovely
Posted by Chantal at August 13, 2007 07:57 AMI see you talk about you new lens under the pics.
maybe you made a little mistake
i think your new lens is EF 100mm f2.8 not"f.8"
i am a chinese ,see your pics everyday.
love your viewpoint
I'd say that worked out well - I've been contemplating this lens myself (I used the 60mm-efs but I wanted more distance in some cases).
Posted by JVL at August 13, 2007 10:07 AMWow!!! In the 2nd image, I feel I can almost touch it. Excellent job!! It feels alive :)
Posted by Madhu at August 13, 2007 11:39 AMThese got a verbal "woah" out of me when they came up. So vibrant!
There are some flowers just like those outside my office, I had been thinking of shooting them. No butterflies though.
Posted by AJ at August 13, 2007 12:32 PMnice to see a different subject. the colors of the flowers go very well with the colors of the butterfly.

Amazing macro. I haven't seen much macros from you recently so it's nice to see some again. Great detail and colour.
