Comments: royal couple

WOW, that is some building. Lovely shot, lighting is nice, colors and textures are very natural. I like it. Oh, the couple is cute, too...but that building really steals the show!!!

Wow ! I like the picture style. Great colors and (as usual) incredibely sharp !!!

I really would like to benefit of the post-process knowledge of this shot.

You're really a DDW (Digital Darkroom Wizard), Sam O_o

Well, as always this is a composition I really like. But I am not shure about the sky and the roof. I think you know what I mean, or ?

This architecture must be very reminiscent of home in Iran. It's so Mosque like. The couple would be way out of line for Iran these days, however.

Crazy, beautiful world.

Amazing architecture :-) And the couple in the foreground is really well captured

Great! The picture would be close to average if it wasn't for the couple.

I would like to see a tutorial of some kind too of the post-processing; Do you think it would be possible to make something like that one day?

Posted by Erik at February 26, 2007 02:10 PM

additional note: I found the forum and a couple of tutorials from you there. My apologies and thanks!

In fact, when browsing this one on 1024x768, one scrolls down and expects, well, some more bushes... But I never expected bushmen ;-)

beautiful technique and composition. a timeless shot and theme, reinforced by the structure of the picture.
four layers: infinite sky with a fine dappled texture; manmade finite building, smooth but complex with (in human terms) a timeless beauty; a layer of soft, beautiful, evanescent plantings, dappled like the sky but finer; and the royal couple, specific, mortal, finite, on a blank piece of lawn, but combining perfectly the evanescence of the flowers, the human perfection of the building, and the infinity of the sky.
sam, this is your most romantic picture ever, and it's masterly.

This shot got better and better as I was scrolling down! But I do love the brilliant crispness of the building against the great sky.

It's great, lovely like always.

I like the framing with the tree on the left. Fantastic sky! And another interesting surprise at the bottom of this vertical shot.
