Comments: tall vatican

Hi Sam, this image is absolutely fantastic! I'm a little fan of your work. Thanks for sharing.

Impressive! Not many would have picked that as a stitched shot.

Consistently good images . Thanx ...

Posted by leedee at January 11, 2007 04:46 AM

that's really nice, I can imagine it would look really good printed out and hung on the wall.

But before you do that you might want to apply a little photoshoppery to the people on the pavements where the two halves are stitched together. If you look closely you can see a pair of legs standing at the curb, and on the other side of the road a guy appears twice - once in full, then a few metres further on he's just a floating torso :-D

Wow! Love these all-encompassing photos. Do wish I could make it smaller in order to see the whole thing within my screen. Is there any way to do that?

Posted by catsmeow at January 11, 2007 08:17 AM

Certainly a masterful stitching job for I can't see the line at all - easily. I'm puzzled by the light in it. It looks like dark clound shaddows cover spots near the top and especially the top in the trees which are very black on my screen.

The Church of Rome has certainly created a collection of very odd buildings over time.

You are giving us some not too common views of this extravagant place. Thanks.

Beautiful shot, and great stitching! I really like the way the top of the monuments helps lead the eye up the street to the top of the frame. Very nice!

I know this is opposite to what you usually hear, but I'd actually like to see a smaller version, 800-900 pixels high, so that I can get a sense of the scope in one view.

Posted by JVL at January 11, 2007 08:27 AM

Very nice!

Nice joining of 2 different photos.
Even if it was raining and bad weather, the colors are rather nice.
Interesting to watch at. Thanks.

Very cool it just kept scrolling and scrolling, almost like standing there.

What a beautiful shot Sam! Rome is just about my most favourite city, and you have captured the colour beautifully. Hard to believe I see only 6 tour buses. Back when they allowed traffic into the Piazza, I've seen about 20 at any one time!! Thanks again, for sharing.
