Comments: court and the city

This one is really perfectly done! The composition is stunting - the buildings on the side look great and the contrast between grass and sky is also amazing. Great job!

Brilliant wide angle! and thats some GREAT light :D

Colours a re superb, contrast is possibly just off a little on the people, but this could just be down to the size of the image!
Really amazing :D

what camera and lens was this taken with?

To me, this shot has a harsh, manipulated look.

That sky is pretty powerfull. I like the composition too, with the 'concrete gap' in the grass. The contrast between city- and nature elements is also very visable...

Interesting shot, theres not alot going on but I like the colours.

Great shot Sam. Nice of you to respond to Salem's request! It's been a while since I've been to Toronto...what building is that being built there in the background? It looks too big to be a condo...but maybe not....

i love the late summer sun and feel of this shot, nicely framed. but my brain is finding it hard to believe that the front of the backboards would be so bright white if the sun is setting behind them and to the right.

I love the polarizer effect. Good composition too.

I knew I recognized this place...I pass by it everyday. :)

The contrast between the grassy area and the city behind it just pops up.

The postprocessing is great. You made it look like a really great day to be out playing balls. :)

I like the fact that there is no basketball readily visible. It gives it a feeling of surreality.

Used to walk by this court all the time, but never stopped or went inside. I didn't realize there was so much green space there--it's lovely.

It seems everywhere i look in toronto something is being built! Nice pic Sam -- it Feels like i'm looking outside my window, doesn't look like a photo at all. Amazing!

Nice pic. Nice job getting both the close up basketball court, the far away buildings and even the sky in focus.

Ra's comment is interesting, but there *is* a basketball visible! It's just above and a centimeter or so to the left of the closest backboard.

Awesome shot, love the bold colours and the sky is brilliant. Did you use a polariser or was this all PP?

Posted by Rob at August 16, 2006 06:23 AM

Is this HDR or just polarizer with post-process?
