Really beautiful portrait. I love the dark clothing against the light background and the solid against the busy striations behind. I've never heard of this guy, but I feel as if I know him just from this shot. Very live, not static at all.

You're good in portraits too.
nice expression, beautiful background.

It's been a year that I'm visiting ddoi daily but It's my first comment and I'm proud that the 2 times photobloggies winner is Iranian. keep up the great work Sam.

Superb crisp shot, and perfect natural light across his face. Background has zero distraction. Excellent all 'round.

Great portrait. What can one say. Getting close to such success can be intimidating.

I'm disappointed today, Sam.
I always come to your site to see great photography and am usually very pleased.
This is just a 'snap' of a famous person!
We can see plenty of such photos in newspapers & magazines.
I know I have a dissenting opinion today, but this is an honest viewpoint.

Interesting post-processing treatment. Classic Sam desaturation used in portraiture used to great effect, I think (or at least, it looks like it).

Nice portrait shot, nice background too. It's not easy to take a portrait shot at exhibition site.

I love this guy...he freaks my freak!

Magnificent! Very flatering shot of the older generation. The photo captures a sense of wisdom and nobility. There is a some mystery in the background which impart a sense of vision to the man as well. The positining of his head in the frame helps to that extent also. The way it tilts to the left with more shoulder on the right adds creativity. I like the sensivity of the mouth versus the rugged chin hairs. Great work!

I think the portrait is very well done.

Damn... I'm jealous. Must have been amazing, Sam...

Interesting composition with dark (foreground) and bright (background) colors. Even the lines makes a good contrast: the guy's body leaning into opposite direction of the strips in the background. And pinsharp, as usual: you can even see the guy's beard stubble! :-)

Oh, and what is that bright pixel-like color in his right ear? Hearing-aid? Ear-stud?

That dude is ugly and so's this particular picture.

Great portrait! Wasn't he in Alias as a stoner working on memory recover? Eh, I'll look it up =)

David Cronenberg is an amazing filmmaker! That must have been fun! It's a great photo. He looks really friendly and relaxed but if you look into his eyes you can see that this is absolutely the same man who can make a film like Crash or Dead Ringers.
