My friend was on that phone a few weeks ago when the phone literally snapped into two while she was on it, with my roomate. Watch out for that phone people!

Hi Sam,

The little metal 'guy' with the pointy Pinnochio nose (just above the empty cardboard box) looks like a 3D version of one of the fantastical creatures painted or drawn on the wall. :-) And the box somehow is a sign of a human having passed by the fantasy creatures' domain. On the right: is that a window, or a mirror? I wonder if we appear as strange to the creatures as they do to us, or maybe more so! :-) Thanks for your keenly observant eye, and your technical skill to be able to catch these curious moments of our shared adventure here on Planet Earth.

I love the Timbits box at the bottom. It turns the photo into a story.

is this on your ultra wide angle again???
damn beautiful colours and details :)

does it distort at all??

Very interesting wall here. I can't tell if it is a painting or some kind of wall covering. Whatever it is, it's quite colorful.

I visit pretty regularly. One feature I have spotted on a similar website makes whatever is the image of the day a link to the image of the previous day. This compels users to spend more time viewing becasue the hand need not even move in order to see another image, just click. I think this site would be wise to integrate the same feature. I love to look at the images as I am on the S. shore of Ontario and I have quite a fondness for Toronto. ANyway, anything that encourages viewers to linger and look is a good thing, I think.

Timmie's!

Great art on the wall.

Now what do i call this... just awesome.. it has been captured well but what the artist whos done this piece of wall is a man of colors...

Posted by Shikher at May 2, 2006 10:45 AM

You sure do find some fascinating stuff Sam.

You are doing a great job of recording a lot of Toronto's being. It will be a great historical treasure.

And most of it has an artfull touch, like the used food box by the phone, and an angle that gets the feel of the scene.

I'm surprised jon-michael finds it too much to move the cursor over to "day before" to see what else has been going on.

Ah but of course...Lee's...a city monument. Cool shot Sam.

Posted by Dave MacIntyre at May 2, 2006 11:31 AM

I want some timbits...the glazed ones...

Posted by Nima R at May 2, 2006 11:36 AM

Fantastic saturation Sam. The doughnut box gives the scene an 'abandoned' feel.

Love that wall. I've even used that phone! One more reason why I now carry wet wipes.

=o}

Great picture!

I like this shot a lot. I think your photos the last few days have been great. your subjects and angles got a little stale for a couple days. its great to see these really unique subjects. I was happy to see todays shot from the side and not straight on.

Check your browser settings - rollover EXIF is still working for me. And on that, Sam, I'd be interested to hear your views of the 10-22 as compared to your previous favourite lens, the 17-40.

love the angle/ perspective of that photo a lot, and lovely colours

I have a daughter who loves to draw; not just loves to, needs to. It is a need that comes from deep within. Only that kind of artist could do something like this. He must have had such a sense of statisfaction and accomplishment upon completing this work.

very nice, great colors!

Lee's Palace is a great photography subject since it's so bizzare and unique. I really like this photo.

Oh wow! Very cool wall.

Posted by AirBete at May 2, 2006 08:26 PM

Messy and yet so beautiful. The effects of time and people, great shot.

Posted by Carlos Lorenzo at May 2, 2006 08:27 PM

Wow, I amazed at all the vivid colors. That is a wild wall. You could look at it for hours and probably find something new. Great shot.

Posted by Laurie at May 2, 2006 10:17 PM

FYI, the wall's mural artist is Alex Curry aka "Runt".

Posted by Marshall at May 3, 2006 09:33 AM

oooo... a Palace!

Posted by qoJ at May 3, 2006 12:14 PM

Great textures and colors - perfectly exposed. This is great!

Posted by Abe at May 4, 2006 04:53 PM

With great sharpness, this picture shows that a wall is sometimes much more than a wall...

Posted by Miguel at May 4, 2006 07:29 PM

I really like this one. A fantastically mad abstraction of a mural... like Hergé on acid! Also, check out the grafitti near Keele station if u get a chance.
