Comments: red jacket

Handheld in -33 degree weather? Its a wonder anything turned out at all. I would have been shaking like one of those little hairless dogs that always look like they are freezing to death.

Its good to see another self portrait of you.(shadow on the road.) Great photo, well done. Love the clearity and the building intrigues me.

Am I the only one feeling pokeroo-ish about never seeing sam in his photos.

Wow the screen you look at these photos on really makes a big difference. This is my second look at it on a better screen and it is amazing...

On a cold day you took a shot that warms the heart. Congratulations.

I can feel the coldness in this shot. I love also that deep blue sky in left up corner of the photo.
do you use any colored filter at the time of photography? or use any editing software for chnging or adjusting the colores?

Where's the snow?

-33 ??? I hope thats Celcius.
Is that the same light you took a picture of a while back?

Some people in Yakutsk, Russia shot with their 300D when it was -42C and even -50C without consequences.

If it wasn't for some details, I'd say it was a wonderful summer day! Nice shot and kudos on your amazing blog!

I actually went to work yesterday and wondered if you'd brave the cold for a shot. I for one did not.

nice job.

I accidentally left mine (in its case mind you) in the car overnight. I was quite annoyed the next morning. I wanted to grab some photos of the ice fog that came off the lake, but the LCD was still too cold to operate. Took a good 4 hours of gradual warming up before I could use it again.

Chalk one up in the moron column for me. :)

is there any tree in toronto that doesn't have a plastic bag lodged in it? :)

Posted by johanna at January 19, 2005 11:07 AM

Not a big fan of this picture, actually. Some of the other works are fantastic, but this seems to be pretty 'regular'.

Posted by Adam at January 19, 2005 11:49 AM

-33 C is -27 Fahrenheit. Cold either way!
(Google: enter -33 C in F as a search and it calculates it.)

Great colour - and yes, it was almost as cold as Ottawa. Where did the city park it's snow?

Posted by Diane at January 19, 2005 12:39 PM

I know how that feels. A week ago I took a few pics outside in the cold it was more than -25... My hands were burnning I was worried about my camera.

I find this one a little bland, I'm afraid. The one saving grace is the person with the red pullover. Overall, there is just no order to the shot, though.

I never knew Canada/Toronto was so colorful. I plan on returing to see more. Thx.

-32? My god man! You make me appreciate Vancouver's rainy weather even more. It was some thing like 10 - 12 C today. If it wasn't for the light rain and a little bit of wind, I probably wouldn't have bothered with a jacket this evening when I went for a walk.

Posted by Lihtan at January 19, 2005 09:49 PM

The phot signifies the photographer everywhere chasing the elusive subject. I don't envy you. My fingers just don't work in weather that cold. A similar photograph, but from not as cold Dallas.

Nice photo dude. -33 IS really cold and i wouldnt wanna be the one caught in that kind of weather

Posted by Abid at January 19, 2005 11:45 PM

the cold didn't make asphalt look white.
it's salt.

Posted by mike at January 20, 2005 01:04 AM

Toronto's snow melted a few days earlier when it was +18 C!! crazy weather!

Posted by FM at January 20, 2005 11:29 PM

IT's hard to imagine in this weather (Today is July 20th) that it could ever be cold in this city, but this picture gave me the chills because you captured the feeling so well.

Awesome. (I'm moving ;o)

Posted by -B at July 20, 2005 05:57 PM

now, i'm not complaining, but how come you name your photos by the small details in them that would usually get lost or overlooked?
