Wow, nice colors! You continue to amaze me with your photos.
Posted by Magnus at January 15, 2005 07:36 AMWoah, thats amazing how many colors are on one building, haha.
Posted by Tony at January 15, 2005 08:20 AMIsn't that a great building, Sam?
Here is a shot I took of it last year:

Posted by Jay at January 15, 2005 10:38 AMWow Sam. The colors in this are just wonderful. Is that snow in the foreground?
Posted by myla kent at January 15, 2005 11:43 AMYour photos are spectacular. I think I would comment on the colour, or composition or subject matter of every image I see - if I had time. I linked to you off my blog so I can have a look now and then where ever I am and see what you have posted. Your posts have made me more conscious of the tapestry around me, and has to some extent encouraged me to take more pictures here and there around London.
Keep posting!

Posted by Brandon at January 15, 2005 01:17 PMYou could do better... This just seems a little bland to me.
Posted by Raffi at January 15, 2005 01:55 PMI love the bright saturated colors and contrasts in this one.
Posted by luminouslens at January 15, 2005 07:15 PMI normally like your posts, but I don't get this
one, what is so special about it?
I really like the colours of this one too. However if you placed the store in a more central position I think I would enjoy it more. The store seems to want to be the focus for my eye and is struggling to balance the photo which feels far to heavy on the larger right side.
Myla> Yes thats snow... (hard to believe I know) The snow in toronto gets mixed with sand that is sprinkled with salt to help clear the roads of ice. When it is plowed to the side it becomes those piles of dirty sandy frozen slush that you see here. When it melts it literally leaves little piles of sand where the snow was. The melting dirty slush is one of the most terrible parts of the winter... esspecially if your wearing new shoes(Salt stains are terrible)
Posted by scott at January 16, 2005 06:29 PMI dig this. The colors and the style of composition are straight on.
Posted by propaganga panda at January 16, 2005 09:36 PMGreat photo-blog. Been checking ever since I saw the link from Torontoist. Thanks for sharing your work.
Incidentally, Cravings makes what is, for my money, the best Caesar Salad dressing in the city. Think Earl's, West Vancouver, circa 1988. If that means nothing to you, stop in and try one of their Chicken Caesars. See what you think.
Posted by Yermum at January 17, 2005 03:38 PMJust like to say that I think your composition in a lot of your shots is great, this is something that you can't touch up in photoshop. You also seem to get great colouring. Maybe more detail than you are willing to give, but I'd love to see some before (photoshop) and after shots. I think this would be really beneficial for those of us that are still at the begining of the learning curve and to give us more of an idea how much is done in post.
