Sam, you're looking a little......lost.

Or maybe you've lost weight?

Hey, were you in there on Sunday? If you were, I'm annoyed with myself that I didn't go over and talk to the guy who was in there taking a photo from the top of the stairs!

If you were and if I had, I would have thanked you in person for sharing your gift.

Oh no... You broke the superheros code Mr.Invisible. You gave away your secret identity.

Nice photo. I sense someone is getting all artsy on us lately. (nothing wrong with being artsy as long as it doesnt start swelling your head)

oh, come on, you can do better than this! :)

You remind me of that movie star...oh, what was his name?

Posted by cmb at January 12, 2005 07:52 AM

Funny, I assumed you were a coffee drinker.

Hmm. The picture's cool and all, but I'd like to see a version where the coffee cup is in focus, and the jacket is out of focus. Would be a nice comparison...

Actually, shouldn't the jacket be a little out of focus anyway? I mean, the body would be a few inches in front, or maybe more if leaning forward...

Sam! You are absent in your attendance. This photo has a great concept. I love it. It makes you think.

Kathy! Are you still having that habit of setting a date with someone and showing up in the coffee shop but leaving the place without stepping in it?

Which one is you?

Posted by dodo at January 12, 2005 11:41 AM

no wonder you had to come in for warm tea.....that jacket wouldnt keep you warm in Spring....

Looks pretty lonely in there indeed :)

Yeah right, Sam. You are taking a break from coffee and making a picture at balzac cafe.

Great composition. Do you have a pic where the foreground is in focus?

Posted by Zishaan at January 12, 2005 01:55 PM

Sam,
You am utterly transparent, I can see right thru you! LOLLing....

Posted by jam at January 12, 2005 05:30 PM

Nice.

khuffie. I agree about it being a nice idea to focus on the tea cup since it struggles for attention in this photo with its bright white shine. However, I think that would completely change the concept of the photo.

I think Sams idea of a self portrait like this was very creative and interesting. I like the photo a lot and the title just makes it great for me. Also if the table and the cup were in focus the piping and the bricks in the background would fade away and we would be left with only a very small image and the bottom of the picture for our eyes to enjoy. I like this one as it is... I wouldnt change a thing.
