At first I was shocked to see any living green thing in Toronto...then I realized the tree on the left is a euonymus, which is an evergreen that usually grows as a shrub or climbing vine. Great juxtasposition!

This is Life !

Oh my god I love this. This is just a genious setting. First I thought that the plants should be on the same level but the "dead" plant being lowerd only makes the contrast between the too more interesting. I think. Brilliant.

nice contrast between tree/tree; trees/wall, however this is definately not a favorite, not enough composition, my mind comprehends it too quickly.

this shot makes me laugh. thanks.

The plants are nice, but I love the line running across the top, above the green tree. I also love the shadow of the live tree, and the texture of the wall ... it looks like rain water has been dripping down and leaving dirt behind or something.

I'm weird, what can I say.

good observation and Beautiful shot.... there is so much contrast between the subjects and eyes just keep switching... great work.

I'd pay MONEY to have your images in Wallpaper sizes. Especially this one.

I agree with Shunsuke, it's a very fun picture! :)
Personally I really like the coulors and the texture of the wall and the contrast between it and the green tree. *Thumbs up to Sam!*

Sometimes I feel like the left one, sometimes I feel like the right one. Today, I'm laughing at the left one because I am the right one. My laughter blinds me from seeing the left one laughing at me.

makes sense?

This is gorgeous photography. A rare find, and glad you snapped it. Just great contrast of life.

very nice

This would be a fun picture to see when both are green too. the way the branches on the left go up and on the right they go down. It may make an interesting photo for the futur.

Nice find!

Though I don't know what the gardener was thinking...

the comments today are almost more interesting than
the photo. What does it say to Hugh about Paul Martin's government? The most interesting thing to
me is how Sam has so much time to notice so many
neat things. Thanks for sharing.

I think it says that two different kinds of plants grow along a white wall one loses its leaves the other one is an evergreen, but there are also long straight intersecting cracks along the wall, just like paul martins government. (I don't get it either.)

Anyways I think this photo reminds me of the white houses I always see in photos of greece. Im epecting to see a blue roof above and a beautiful sea beside it somewhere below the cliffs.
