Comments: towers in fog

One word sums this up nicely; stunning!

This is the first time that I've been moved to comment--but I had to for this one because I so appreciated the contrast between the "concrete" grass and the seemingly-abstract buildings--this image has a dreamlike quality that's really quite nice.

you know... if you look at one building, you cant really see the other.

Posted by Grant at December 12, 2004 01:38 AM

WOW!!!!!

Wow. I cant believe this is toronto. It looks like a fairy-tale.

Posted by otto at December 12, 2004 02:31 AM

Great shot Sam. I wonder if this was a recent picture, as I doubt the grass looks that green this late in the year.

Kind of reminds me of the rolling hills of Wales. Not the urine-extracting property of the GTA. Nicely done

Posted by TY at December 12, 2004 02:45 AM

Wow.

It looks like a little fairytale...

Or a dream or something...

Posted by Daniel at December 12, 2004 03:01 AM

it is like some dream picture, where just that grass is real and everything else is mirage. but i think that the grass should not be darken on edges, it reminds me vigneting.

Fabulous photograph. Great composition with only a few elements. Nice tones. The clouds have been manipulated a bit, but it enhances the picture.

It's also the weather we have right now in the Netherlands.

You probably get tired of all the "please can I have this as a wallpaper" requests.

Please, can I have this as a wallpaper?

Posted by Winston Smith at December 12, 2004 02:22 PM

Posted by Chris at December 12, 2004 02:47 PM

The green field in this photo reminded me of the default Windows XP wallpaper !

Posted by Vahid at December 12, 2004 04:16 PM

I have memories of that place. Time I spent with people very special to me in life.

It's a great photo of it and it really captures the beauty of that spot.

Man... you really know how to make me homesick.

Posted by mooni at December 13, 2004 06:58 AM

if you walk from where you took this photo up and to the right - towards one of the thick walls of the plant - you can jump onto a ledge right below the large windows and you will see inside a HUGE wall of white circles with art deco numbers (imagine oversized elevator buttons) looking down on the large turbines and what not.

what a pleasure it is to see your findings of the city everyday!

Great shot. This is one of my favorite places in the city. I'm in mourning, since they recently fenced the whole place off for 2 years of renovation...

Posted by Adam at December 13, 2004 01:51 PM

Yes, please do give us this as wallpaper.

This is the most surreal photograph of the most surreal place in Toronto.

i'm glad you call it the beaches
and not the beach

Posted by nikky at December 17, 2004 12:50 PM

I absoultely love this picture. It's so surreal and calming to look at. It reminds me of a sort of fairytale/Harry Potter/LOTR kind of place. Amazing that such a place exists in Toronto. A wallpaper version would be awesome, if you have time and bandwith for it.

Posted by teo at December 19, 2004 05:27 PM

I've never seen the Centre look so surreal before.
