Comments: chained benches

I like the colouring of the glass and pattern in the background.

I get the distinct impression they don't want anyone to sit there.

See, even picnic tables need to relax and chat around the picnic table.

Maybe they're on their lunch break.

What do picnic tables talk about?

Maybe...picnics?

Excellent.

I thought this was an art exhibit at first. It appears to be just how they place the benches together. Why do they do that? Is it to make more space for something else?

they place the tables like that so homeless people don't occupy them at night.

It's a great place for homeless people to sleep. The two benches on the sides block the cold Toronto winds.

I would imagine they chain them up to stop people from stealing them.

It's a primitive Voltron.

Ive been checking out your photos for a while now..... i notice you have a lot of photos with something directly in the middle. From what i know thats not the best place to have your focus drawn... just an observation

To Fah, who mentioned about it being in the middle. It depends on what you're photographing: there's no 'hard' rule in photography (or anywhere else for that matter).

The symmetry of the benches basically require them to be in the middle of the frame. My only gripe with the photo is that it isn't straight on, it's slightly skewed to one side. Nothing a quick Photoshop rotation won't fix :).

"I've been checking out your photos for a while now..... i notice you have a lot of photos with something directly in the middle."

See December 9, 7, 5, 4, 1, November 30, 29, 27, 26, 25, 24....

I got tired of clicking. None have a specific center focus.

so is this an art exhibit or is it just a few benches chained together?

for some reason, this makes me feel like I'm at a Sushi Bar. Must be the teal-tinted light. You don't happen to remember which magazine that is on top of the table do you?

unless i am mistaken this is in front of the police station just W of university on dundas.

and likely the are chained for the coming snow this weekend, as the time for pinics and the tables that support them are gone.

ive had your feed for quite awhile, and you are largely my favourite of all the photo blogs that i have. keep it up.

I never knew that no one knew that people chain things up when they want to keep them overnight. Huh.

I guess America doesn't have _that_ much influence. We steal things here.

I couldn't figure out what kind of torture device it was. Heh... oops.

I've seen enough small-claims-court tv to know that leash laws are important.

These are benches that are outside the Toronto Police Service's 52 Division. I passed them the other day and thought about the irony. Sorry to take away from the mysticism but the irony was too much.
