Comments: ocad low angle

I gotta say, I hate that building. So wasteful of space and materials!
The picture's ok, but doesn't fully reveal how awful the building really is in all its bathtub-tiled walls on technicolor legged "glory" ;)

Nice exercise in mathematical ratio's. It's the placement of the different shapes that makes the picture.

That's a great angle, I live round the corner from this thing and have quite a few photographs of it which are all fairly pedestrian. You've definitely got something worth posting here.

I quite like the building, it is odd but it brightens up the area and makes for a talking point. There are similar structures I've seen in Europe.

Now THAT is a fine picture...I believe you've found a way to make the building look great... not an easy task.

I thought u took it when u felt bored pumping gas.

Good photo. It appears a bit dark on my screen so I have trouble seeing parts of the photo. Maybe this dark shadow im seeing under the building was intentional. Id rather see some colour. Black and White just kinda doesnt interest my eye in this shot. Its good but the classical feeling the black and white gives me just feels really odd with the modern subject matter. I get this strange art deco feel from it.

As for the building. As a building, its just wasteful and rediculiously foolish. The building is horribly disfunctional. As a work of architecual art, Its beautiful and a great piece of art.

Thats my Two cents on this subject.

guy, i just linked onto your site for the first time, looked at the last few months of your photos, and i think they're beautiful. i also think that it's refreshing and inspiring to see someone doing something that they are passionate about everyday, on an ongoing basis, and openly sharing it in a public forum. thank you. having said that, isn't it a sad shame that other people would turn around and use that same forum to trash talk you, and each other, with their negative criticisms and mental garbage. this city has enough pollution already, the last thing we need is for people to start smudging the clear spaces and colours of toronto that provide so many of us with a daily taste of sanity. i like what you do. i also really like the brainwashed brain.

Not much detail visible from this photo, only the triangular shapes of the sky that are left open on the three corners.

I love this picture. Ive never seen the building but I like this sort of architecture. Brilliant work.

I love your picture, but I detest the actual building. Your photography is impressive.

I honestly don't know how that attrocity got funded, but yeah, you make it look good... the sharpening on the edge is a bit much though (left side)

Never actually seen the building in person, but the photos of it tell all. I probably wouldn't pick this image out of a book and say " NOW THAT's a NICE PICTURE", but I admire that you'd even attempt to make something so hideous, even a bit more likable

I'm not crazy about the building itself (from an aesthetic POV), but at least it's *interesting* which is more than can be said for 90% of Toronto architecture. I give it points for that alone.

Photographing it is a bastard (I've tried it), and you've done a good job of making it fresh alright.

Nice.

i live close by and never thought to photgraph it in b&w. good thought, i like the angle. i also like the building - cheeky and irreverent just like the students are (ought to be)
