Wow. Really almost a mundane shot turned into something gorgeous with post-processing. My only complaint is the oil patch on the right looks a bit tweaked.
Great work.
Posted by adam at October 11, 2004 03:05 AM:-) Way coool!
Posted by ila at October 11, 2004 03:24 AMLove it! Can't think of anything else to say. Great work.
Posted by Andy (SensorChip) at October 11, 2004 04:42 AMthe simplicity ! I like.
Posted by rei at October 11, 2004 05:19 AMthe oil patch looks like an amoeba I don't like it. I also don't like the shadow, but overall is cool.
Posted by Emily at October 11, 2004 09:16 AMMakes me think its a painting by Mandrian.
I think the guy is going to have a bit of a surprise when he finally looks up and finds that Sam has done away with his car!!! :-)
great shot... u've got a really fresh eye
Posted by dru at October 11, 2004 11:57 AMOh, that's an amazing photo! :-)
Posted by Shruthi at October 11, 2004 01:13 PMSam,
Very nice shot. Did you paint it before ?
that yellow is popping, and the sunlight. wow
Posted by Drew at October 11, 2004 02:28 PMHey, I like it a lot! (but isn't that the lot just north of Edward at Gerrard?)
Posted by Moon at October 11, 2004 02:36 PMahhhhh sam... today u're zooming in with your camera, tomorrow your sniper rifle.....
Posted by chemical imbalance at October 11, 2004 04:04 PMThat oil slick does look daunting, but I really like it. Since the man isn't paying attention and heading straight for it, it adds a fun sense of tension...what will happen when he reaches it?
Posted by Charlie at October 11, 2004 07:15 PMDiggin that telephoto, aren't you? Need to upgrade my gear soon too.
Posted by Houser at October 11, 2004 09:29 PMI love those yellow lines. It is absoloutly beautiful. And that man in the right, really adds to the picture.
Posted by koozeh at October 11, 2004 11:39 PMyawn... we are not amused....
Posted by scott at October 12, 2004 12:53 AMyou showed me with this photo that bright yellow paint is pretty and dark cracked pavement is ugly... I knew both of these things before. You also taught me that bald headed mens scalps still shine just as bright from the second or third story of a building gazing down on them. All things I didnt need to learn... overall you camera work is always good but the topic is incredibly boring... i hope to see better in future
Posted by scott at October 12, 2004 12:57 AMGREAT shot, sir! Simplistic, geometric, bold and contrasting... this is my kind of shot. Nice work!
Posted by Seth Thomas Rasmussen at October 12, 2004 12:57 AMI dont see how any one can say they do not like it or too borring! This image is great from a photographic stand point. I would like to hear some decent reasoning and explination from people talking about compositionally why they don't like it. Great image by the way, very interesting subject matter.
Posted by Tom at October 12, 2004 08:23 AMFantastic! I absolutely love this one.
