Comments: arrest at college st.

These images have an element of been part of a peep show, it is as if we are looking at something we shouldnt be looking at. How did you feel about it when you shot these?

I like the great composition that you provide and the wonderful colour saturation. It is not so common in this type of photography (where it is usually all about context and not so much aesthetics), and you bring your own sensibility to it. Congrats on that!

I wonder who and what that guy did?

i'll forgive you, however. you were probably just caught up in the moment.

wish my company bought mine! :)

i agree, it's a great lens, especially for an l, and especially for the price. the tripod ring ran me $130 though - wft?

Sam, that is so cool of them to get that fo you! I'm excited that my company is going to buy us lunch today, but a new lens? I think I'd have to cry if they bought me that.

What's wrong with Chemical Imbalance?

The real crime on College St is the streetcar track re-construction.

the 2nd photo is my favorite.

Is that your bike in the last picture that the "perp" was trying to steal?

That's quite the toy Sam. Good score. :)

i don't like some pictures and there's something wrong with me, linda?

Damn, CI - kill the hostilities, yo!

Sam, I dig em. I really like how in each picture, you've managed to catch both stop motion (the in-focus subjects) and blurred motion.

Sweet deal on the lens. I'm saving up for a 12-24mm, myself. Let's see you go w i d e !

I agree, the second picture is my favourite. The colours and blurriness in these pictures make them quite inviting. Plus there's the whole "interest in forbidden things" that pops up here. I feel all sleuthy just looking them. Imagine the feeling you get, taking them! Awesome work, man.

first i want to remind people. innocent until proven guilty. We didnt see a photo of this guy doing one thing wrong.

On other topics, the quality of the photo is great, but im starting to realise that i can give most of that credit to the quality of the camera and lens you used. Ones that the average joe doesnt usually have.

I agree about the blurred images and still motion it tells a story to us in a surreal way. My personal favorite part of these photos simply is the angle. Its a cool comic book style angle. Cool photos. On an artist level Ive seen you do better, but im glad you took the time to capture these anyways. They are just simply cool.

Congratulations on the new lens. I got the same one about a week ago and am having a lot of fun with it, and FWIW, it has distinct advantages over the f2.8 IS version in terms of size and weight. I've used (well, borrowed for a hour or so) the f2.8 version and it's way less portable.

As for chrys's point about the tripod ring: I took some advice about this and the general opinion seems to be that you don't need it; i.e. the lens mount is more than capable of supporting the weight of this lens. Where it would be useful is if you're using it with a monopod as it would be better balanced.
