Those budget cuts from the Harris years are really starting to show.

Never mind what, I wonder?

I like the contrast between this side of Toronto and the 'tourist' face of the city in yesterdays pic. What the city wants to show off (and spends money on), compared with this view of what so much of Toronto actually looks like is interesting.......

I don't think that "much of Toronto" looks like this. There is the odd decrepit spot, for sure, but there aren't THAT many broken, boarded up windows. Areas like this are being bought up and made kew-wel......look at Parkdale. But about the photo - I want to play tic-tac-toe in the window. And isn't it amazing how resilient weeds are? Good for them to defy the concrete.

I agree most of toronto is nicer than this and those spots that are not nicer are privately owned usually waiting on a new construction to start. There are the few dumps and government ghettos still in toronto, but try living in another city or another part of the world and you will see what a real ghetto is. I live in japan now and when i saw my first rust covered metal house neighborhood here i missed the beautiful houses in toronto something awful... anyways nice pick of a rather ugly subject, yet once again you enlightened me to the beautiful of even a place like this. even the flaking paint somehow is beautiful when seen clearly in this photo. Thanks for showing me how beautiful life really is... maybe i should take a second look at these rust covered japanese houses in the poor parts of this city im in... thanks sam
