nice depth of field, but colors are little odd, combination of red and green is not good. Perspective and sharpeness are nice.
Posted by Michal at September 22, 2004 12:24 AMi disagree. (some) colors may still look good alongside each other even though they are not complimentary. i like the red/green. great job, as always.
Posted by kandi cook at September 22, 2004 12:44 AMWow! I love this picture. Great combination of (almost monochrome) color.
Posted by Edwinek at September 22, 2004 01:35 AM...and composition, I wanted to say.
Posted by Edwinek at September 22, 2004 01:36 AMGreat photo and composition!
Posted by Mando Gomez at September 22, 2004 02:16 AMred and green NOT good? they ARE complementary colours, technically speaking, and i think that the glimpse of green makes this image extraordinary...
i love it!
The composition and the colours make this a special photograph.
Posted by Henk Bakker at September 22, 2004 04:04 AMIgnore the first comment - this is a GREAT shot. Once again, Sam, you manage to make the everyday things we would normally walk by look AMAZING! I love it.
Posted by Houser at September 22, 2004 07:06 AMWhy are the benches stacked up already? It's going to be hotter today than a lot of the summer...they should leave them out until frost is likely.
Posted by alice at September 22, 2004 08:08 AMunless y'all got your monitors identically calibrated, they're all gonna look different!
i can't see how you can comment on colours. sure, the benches are red and green, but they're also somewhat saturated on this monitor, but on my laptop LCD they look a little more neutral. is that how they really looked off the CCD?
just one of the many problems with digital photography.
otherwise i quite like the DoF and composition of this shot. could make a nice print, or postcard; "your bum was here" :)

Posted by Fiona at September 22, 2004 10:54 AMWas Sam supposed to get a can of red paint and paint the green bench red???? Hey, maybe later today I'll go around the city painting over all the 'bad' colours so that they all match!!!
A whole new meaning of "painting the town" ;-)
Posted by Henk Bakker at September 22, 2004 11:48 AMWow! I lover the colors!
Posted by tom at September 22, 2004 02:55 PMThere is something magical about the light hitting those benches, and you seem to achieve very great saturated looks in your photos of this style, I enjoy them a lot they bring me peace and awe.
thanks for the great shots
Posted by jacques at September 22, 2004 04:00 PMthis somehow reminds me of people. . stacked and chained in society.
