I like the 2nd one the best. I saw I few of those fans on the subway ride back home too!
Posted by Boreo at September 15, 2004 01:30 AMAwesome panning with slow synchro flash. Love the second piece.
Posted by ALi at September 15, 2004 01:33 AMsweet shots - I gotta learn how to do this well. That dude in the last picture is defintely drinking and driving.
Posted by Chris at September 15, 2004 01:53 AMhockey fans and hockey players have similar levels of intellect...
Posted by asdf at September 15, 2004 01:59 AMnice shots, blurred background is very good. colors too... btw in hockey we will win next time (czech republic) :))
Posted by Michal at September 15, 2004 03:18 AMAutsch - now it's hurting!
Tried to stay up and see the whole match last night. It was so close that I could be now taking photos about fans here in Finland...
Nice photos anyway!
Posted by Ultra-mega at September 15, 2004 03:57 AMI also stayed up in Helsinki to watch the match -- although I consider Toronto my home so either way I'm celebrating. Ruutu's goal was about the best thing I've seen since, well, since a loooooong time. Way to go T.O! And beautiful shots, too.
Posted by johanna at September 15, 2004 06:07 AMgreat shots, really, i am playing with the panning technique for some time now, but using slow synchro flash is something i need to try... but then again i need a descent subject ;-)
you have the skills, that is for certain... and you just are in the right place in the right time :-)
the jubilance ! very vibrant and colorful takes you have there !
Posted by rei at September 15, 2004 07:00 AMThe driver in the last shot has a beer in his hand!
Posted by Scott Murdoch at September 15, 2004 08:44 AMthe excitement really comes thru in these shots! used to be this way here in chicago when the bulls had their run of championships in the 90s. been a while since that's happened!
Posted by steven at September 15, 2004 09:01 AMOMG....dude in the last picture is rolling a joint while his buddy driving is drinking a beer!!! Even tho I'm a canadian some of us don't seem t cease to amaze me.
Posted by canadian fan at September 15, 2004 09:37 AMBest panning shots I've ever seen.
Posted by Babak at September 15, 2004 11:21 AMlast night was a celebration of Canada's victory over Finland as well as a celebration of no seatbelt day.

Posted by Ben at September 15, 2004 04:22 PMCongratulations torontonians!
Posted by Herbert at September 15, 2004 06:21 PMImpressive panning! The flash pop is very effective, too -- really brings out the subjects. Awesome work, as always.
Posted by diana at September 15, 2004 07:21 PMok down here in panama we don't even have winter so no hockey at all. but anyway the shots are cool. the second pic is the best in my opinion, but expressions of first pic's guys is so real... love the blurry effect
Posted by mariel at September 15, 2004 07:37 PMyou captured the movement incredibly w clear foreground subjects and nice careening background. great captures. i'm still pretty new to capturing movement.
Posted by Emily at September 15, 2004 09:56 PMFirst I was confused, hockey in Canada? Off course, it's ice hockey ;-)
Cool shots, incredible how you express movement/speed within your pics!
wow, the first one is amazing
that van looks like it's going WAY to fast for that guy to be so still.
nice shots.
Posted by tanner at September 16, 2004 12:12 PMI LOVE the first shot. All of these are great. That was one insane night, and who knows, you just may be in some of my photos (and I in yours). If you see some girl in your pics, wearing a Lemieux jersey with a camera around her neck and another one in her hand, that's me. Haha. I have to wait until I get my film developed...you've made me anxious to see what I got!
Posted by Carrie at September 18, 2004 12:53 AMYou are a photo journalist. You highlight the event of the day.
BTW, good catch of the photo # . You caught them drinking and driving...
Posted by joey at September 18, 2004 04:09 PMYou have to explain to me how you did these! PLEASE!
