i wish i were in bed...

but seriously, the way the inlet of light matches the inlet of sky is cool. also cool how you managed to get pretty clean glass to shoot through on the cn tower pix ive seen so far.

I think I can see my girlfriend from here. Who's that guy she's with? She's supposed to be home watching the kids!

Posted by ed at August 18, 2004 09:40 AM

Sam, is using a PL filter a rare thing for you? I use mine almost all the time.

Posted by BradKnapp at August 18, 2004 10:32 AM

Every photo I've seen on your site has been, in some way or another, spectacular. I find myself looking forward to what you're going to show us next! Thanks for taking the time & energy to do this. You bless many peoples' lives this way.

Posted by Ragamuffin at August 18, 2004 11:31 AM

I've been visiting your photoblog (how come we don't say phlog as in blog?) photos are awsome. I lived in TO for a short period of time and didn't have the chance to get to know it. Now you are doing it for me, of course with an artistic eye and technically high quality of observation.

Posted by SomehowMolson at August 18, 2004 11:52 AM

Absolutely stunning, I have never seen a photo quite like this it truly is something very unique. The light the colours the contrast and composition all come together and satisfy the human eye in a rare way. I hope that you entered this one to a photo contest!?

There is a small cumulus formation near the top right corner that looks very tranquil amongst the Mega city amazing.

Hey you can see dwntwn Mississauga from here too!

Nice

Posted by Jacques at August 18, 2004 12:21 PM

i find myself actually longing for the reflection on the window's glass -- anything to cover up this raunchy pic.

Posted by chemical imbalance at August 18, 2004 12:43 PM

OH MY GOD.

those were my exacts words when the page loaded.

i was just about to sleep and you have taken all my troubles away with just one shot. i'm gonna sleep well tonight after seeing this.

That stupid balloon is Toronto's newest tourist trap.

Otherwise, cool pic ;)

Posted by Emily at August 18, 2004 03:35 PM

awesome isn't enough... soooooooo frickin cool shot.

Posted by mariel at August 18, 2004 03:58 PM

Sam, very beautiful light, a lovely image.

Posted by pixpop at August 18, 2004 05:54 PM

Reminds me of the movie..."THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW" by Roland Emmerich...BUT IN TORONTO!
****BEAUTIFUL PICTURE****

Posted by p23e at August 18, 2004 06:08 PM

Very beautiful. I like the 'sense' of the photo more than the technic & this one DOES have one in it...kinda battle scene...nature against, let's NOT say human...but so called 'Metropolis' or whatever...

Posted by Kamyar at August 18, 2004 08:50 PM

After all, I like the balloon & it's NOT stupid at all in this photo. It's the only 'Living' thing out there and the scene won't be this perfect without it. Don't agree? simply remove it & see the result.

Posted by Kamyar at August 18, 2004 08:54 PM

i say even without the balloon the photo still looks fucking beautiful.

Posted by angela at August 18, 2004 09:28 PM

the sky looks incredible. beautiful.

Posted by aaron the bold at August 18, 2004 10:19 PM

Posted by photo_addiction at August 19, 2004 04:58 AM

wow. sam, the sun rays are quite amazing here. like the sky is opening up... a crack in a moment in time.

Posted by Emily at August 19, 2004 09:35 AM

You know, on a clear day you can see New York from the top of the CN Tower..

and what a great shot this is... Any further to the left and i'd see the place I work! hurray.. I see that computer world baloon (which is actually hooked onto the ground) every day.

Posted by Raffi at August 19, 2004 08:11 PM

what an amazing sky, light is just perfect :-)
love the little details (like the baloon) that create a very interesting frame, once you get enough of the sky lol
~~

Posted by Sandra Rocha at August 19, 2004 09:12 PM

another home run sam. wow. the detail is impressive. i like how calm the water is on the close side of the breakwall.

Posted by blair at August 19, 2004 09:44 PM

You can see the building I work in from that photo. :D Just off to the right of the Computerland balloon, above the "w" in "tower" in the caption.
