They must have saved a bunch of money on renovation. LOL. That aside, it does looks pretty ruggged. No patrons yet when you took the pic ?

Funny name for a cafe'....:)

The interiors of the cafe look old and the furniture exudes a similar look. And the paintings seem so modern. Very anachronous mismatch there. And a weird name for a cafe. But what the heck, the place seems *kewl*.

You can tell its the distillery district because no one is there. :)

i'd comment on this but i'm too immature to handle the nakedness.

Looks like a room in that mental health institute you visited before. They really need to fix it more especially with that high ceiling

I like it, different but I would go there

I love this cafe. I'd go there every day

Oh they have new artwork!!!

What I love about balzac is that I could get a wifi signal from the chairs on the righthand side of the picture.

I haven't been in awhile. been too busy to surf the net in a cafe.

The waitresses there are actually well-clad, at least during the normal hours.

Posted by Boreo at July 20, 2004 10:08 PM

the coffee's pretty good, too.

It's a nice cafe and your picture does it justice.

The name comes from the writer Honoré de Balzac, who wrote "The Human Comedy". He died in 1850 and his death is rumoured to have been the result of too much coffee.

He was 51 years old when he died.
