Comments: stairs shadows

What a strong composition, and the shadows add A LOT to this. Wow!

Great shot Sam. This would have made a good Canada Day shot but I'm sure you took it on the weekend. Nothing says "university student" than a flag used as a curtain.

I agree about the shadows. I also love the contrasting angles in the lines on the stair case, shadows and brick work.

great shot - but it's not University and College e.g. Ontario Hydro, Toronto General, etc, maybe it's Spadina and Harbord?

You've got a great eye for interesting shapes, and this is no exception. I'm always overlooking shadows, reflections etc cause I'm too busy concentrating on the actual objects I'm shooting.

The flag in the window is my favorite part... color is amazing

This is absolutely outstanding. I love the contrasts of the blues and oranges, blacks and whites. Very clever shot. =)

nicely done! I lived up there on the second floor for a month! the room now decorated with the Canadian Flag! I always wanted to come back and repaint over the back doors, where the layers of exposed brick and paint are kind of an eyesore. It's true the whole structure has seen better days, in fact. But having seen your photo, you've done the building a great honour! Still, maybe I'll get to my painting ambition yet this summer! (based on the building's location, and the shadow placement, I'd say it was taken at 1:45pm...just a guess though)
