What a strong composition, and the shadows add A LOT to this. Wow!

Posted by Irene at July 6, 2004 07:50 AMGreat shot Sam. This would have made a good Canada Day shot but I'm sure you took it on the weekend. Nothing says "university student" than a flag used as a curtain.
Posted by Patrick at July 6, 2004 08:50 AMlove the color of this building! great shot as usual
Posted by Chris at July 6, 2004 08:58 AMvery cool. makes me want to push someone down all those stairs....
Posted by chemical imbalance at July 6, 2004 09:18 AMI agree about the shadows. I also love the contrasting angles in the lines on the stair case, shadows and brick work.
Posted by Andy Bannister at July 6, 2004 09:18 AMgreat shot - but it's not University and College e.g. Ontario Hydro, Toronto General, etc, maybe it's Spadina and Harbord?
Posted by Urbancharm at July 6, 2004 02:39 PMgreat shot - but it's not University and College could it be Spadina and Harbord?
Posted by Urbancharm at July 6, 2004 02:40 PMYou've got a great eye for interesting shapes, and this is no exception. I'm always overlooking shadows, reflections etc cause I'm too busy concentrating on the actual objects I'm shooting.
Posted by James at July 6, 2004 04:08 PMThe flag in the window is my favorite part... color is amazing
Posted by chigirl at July 6, 2004 05:12 PMThis is absolutely outstanding. I love the contrasts of the blues and oranges, blacks and whites. Very clever shot. =)

Posted by Brad_Fotographie at July 7, 2004 07:48 AMGreat picture!
Posted by Kelly at July 8, 2004 01:24 AMnicely done! I lived up there on the second floor for a month! the room now decorated with the Canadian Flag! I always wanted to come back and repaint over the back doors, where the layers of exposed brick and paint are kind of an eyesore. It's true the whole structure has seen better days, in fact. But having seen your photo, you've done the building a great honour! Still, maybe I'll get to my painting ambition yet this summer! (based on the building's location, and the shadow placement, I'd say it was taken at 1:45pm...just a guess though)
