Seeing something like this for the first time. Its unbelievable. LOL. Cryptic is the world.

what is the point of it? does it take one car at a time around, or is it perhaps just a display?

Posted by Ryan at June 15, 2004 06:50 AM

That is badass. I didn't know they made stuff like that

You crazy Canadians!

Seems to be an Audi TT.
Nice photo by the way.

man, can I just drive my car on the the platform and take a spin on the wheel?

If not, it sure would be cool to just sit in the car and take some shots while on "the wheel"

This is what makes the internet and photoblogs so worthwhile ... seeing things like this ... great visual handling too !

lol. Just passed it today which coming back from centre island. Apparently one can even hitch a ride in a car on the ferris wheel.

Posted by Saira at June 16, 2004 02:50 AM

Ha! Only in Canada, where it's too damn cold to get out of the car.

Posted by wookiee at June 16, 2004 01:40 PM

I would expect something crazy like that in New Zealand, not Canada!

Very Cool.

Nice Crisp photo. I really like the colours in this picture.

As mentioned earlier, this piece is from a Dutch artist. The cars are Saab models 9-2x and you can sit in the car for a ferris wheel ride.

A few trivia facts about this ride:

* Apparently, the Dutch artist originally intended that you should be able to drive YOUR OWN CAR onto the ferris wheel and take a few spins around. This did not work for a bunch of reasons (insurance being one I am sure). So the cars come with the ride.

* They take the cars out at night, and put them back in in the morning.

* It costs $5 for 5 minutes ride.

* Before the ride, the operator tells you "Don't open the door while the ride is in progress" -- thanks for that.

* The ride was sponsored by Saab, which is why all the cars are Saabs.

* The exhibit is named "Mobile Fun".
