Posted by TwoPeanuts.com Haiku at May 19, 2004 08:47 AMJust perfect. As a photographer and conoe tripper, this photo goes straight to the core of me. Thanks for something so peacefully familiar. Just love it. (Maybe I'll go for a paddle when I get home tonight!)

Posted by lynn at May 19, 2004 03:47 PMJenn: Why did you let the canoe get in the way?
Bob
Gorgeous. Everytime I've been kayaking at the cottage in the early morning, the lake is like glass and the reflections are incredible. But I've always, *always* been too hesitant about taking the camera with me (so easy to tip over!). I think this year the camera comes with me on all kayaking expeditions.. (plus ziplock baggy).
Posted by kendall at May 19, 2004 05:59 PMThank you all very much. And thanks Sam for the opportunity to guest here!
I'm hoping to get out on the water this weekend. I usually take my old camera, kendall. Just in case ;)
Posted by Jennifer at May 19, 2004 10:38 PMI like the idea. But the composition is throwing me off. How the tip of the canoe is joined to the mirror image on the lake forces my brain to treat the whole picture as one subject. I m compelled to try to balance the left and the right, which is obviously quite unbalanced.
The color is pleasing though.
Boreo, you're over analyzing!!
Posted by qOJ at May 20, 2004 08:43 AMTypically, this kind of symmetry can be really boring but here it works. I love how sharp everything is. I love canoeing too and this ought to be serene but there's something a little unsettling about all of this. It could be that the world is upside down. It could be that it looks like there isn't far too go in the canoe lest you collide into the upside down shore. I don't want to be accused of over analyzing however. It's beautiful not less so because I'm unsettled.
