Comments: getting ready for norouz

I just love pictures like this. I wonder what the story is behind the man in the picture on the shelf. Hmmm.....

This reminds me of the old-style markets at home in India. Very nice.

*speculates that the man in the picture is the shopkeeper's father or grandfather, as there are some semi-shared characteristics* :)

Yesterday's subway image and this image each describe a person and his environment, and each makes powerful statement with lines, colour, and the position of the subject.

The contrast between these images is striking.

The subway is a hard-surfaced environment where all color is artificially cheerful. The anonymous person faces away. He and the camera focus on *nothing*.

The shopkeeper and his environment are just as practical, but so warm and personal.

Sam, these two have National Geographic calibre!

With your thumb, hide the picture with old man, on the shelf. The pic you're looking at, is very different and become more commonplace. On the other hand, this pic is great with old man . I love it.

Apparently the only thing that changes in my day-to-day life is your Daily Dose of Images”, and it always changes for better and better. Wish you even greater success. Happy ancient Norooz fellows, and coming of lovely spring to all.
