WOW!
I love the detail. To reverse a lens, do you need some sort of coupler?
I'd love to try it. I have a digital Rebel as well.
Posted by Kevin at March 7, 2004 02:29 AMreally beautiful.
Posted by soheila at March 7, 2004 02:46 AMbeautiful. love the depth of field.

It's just great.
I agree with Babak, but would like to add a couple more WOW's: WOW, WOW! You reinvented the microscope.
Posted by Edwinek at March 7, 2004 05:20 AMGood lord. Really, really, lovely.
And I'd like to agree that we've seen the last of them, but I've heard enough people call this the "false spring" that I'm braced for more. Isn't it lovely to see the grass again, though?
Posted by Sage Tyrtle at March 7, 2004 05:54 AMSo that is what a snowflake looks like, don't get to see to many in Sydney :)
great pic Sam ....
Wow. That's one of those images that puts things in perspective in like a second. I'm sure that'll be popping into my thoughts for years to come. Is there any chance I could get a copy of the original ?
Posted by hayden at March 7, 2004 07:12 AMyes sam, it is time to start selling hard copies your work!
Posted by qoJ at March 7, 2004 07:35 AMIt began to snow not 5 minutes before I checked today's picture.

Congrats. Almost feel jealous that my daily morning views of your site are going to be discovered by many more.

Posted by excoelis at March 7, 2004 04:10 PMcongrats on the article ... The cover page of Metropolis looks like a flashback to your photolog. Looks really cool ! Keep up the good job ... btw I liked the snowflake alot.
Posted by Ninjaess at March 7, 2004 07:29 PMI know it's irrelevant but I read the following in the article that was published in Toronto Star about you:
"His father Azim is a cinematographer in Iraq". Does your dad live in Iraq?
I had just been imagining getting a camera good enough to take a picture of a snowflake last night as I lay in bed. And then I got on and saw this and I must say that was the most unexpected thing! I love it! Great job! :)
Posted by Matt at March 8, 2004 10:42 AMQuite amazing - I just bought a Canon Digital Rebel, is this the camera you are using? If so, how did you use the 50mm reverse lens? I'd love to try to capture some of the finer details of living on the island of Java, Indonesia.
