remove the trees and you have a beautiful sci-fi-scenery. or rotate it 180° and it's a makro of yesterdays iceneedles.
Whatsoever: great shot.

I always thought it looked exactly like a romulan spaceport... and from the front it looks like a peacock!

Nice pic! :)

YAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!! It's my favourite Toronto building EVER! You just made my Monday in a big way. :)

Posted by johanna at February 23, 2004 02:01 AM

it's not fair, you make everything look so much better than they actually are.

Robarts is one of the uggliest buildings ever, and yet it looks pretty impressive in this picture !!

Oh hey ... I just realized, I think I spotted you a few minutes before you took this picture didn't I ? :)

I thought the host is from UK ? sorry, i am new here.

Even before clicking on the comments I was thinking Borg cube. Independent thought is futile, you will be assimilated.

While I hate Robarts itself, you made it look pretty damn impressive there.

And it's shaped like a Loon, I just found out!

I thought it was a peacock. It's an ugly building, but very photogenic. And yes, good place to sleep...

Naw - I have to agree - it is either Romulan or Vulcan in it's origin. Having never seen it in person, I can't say whether it si ugly or not. It does not look like a very comely building, but Sam did capture a great image of lines and shadow.

Very cool building, truely unique piece of architecture. A great shot too. :)

It blends in so well with the other older surrounding buildings (sic). Nice camera work given the shadows and terrific exposure work to capture the sky.

looks like an organised termite colony
as always, stunning shot Sam : )

Nice use of vertical lines. Great picture.

Nice photo. I'll never look at Robarts the same way again.

Robarts was designed to look like a peacock. Surprisingly, it's designed by engineers from Waterloo and not U of T.

Posted by Ray at February 26, 2004 11:24 AM

Oops sorry, it was designed to look like a phoenix.

nice photo. I agree it looks better than I have ever seen it in real life. I guess it takes an artist to help us notice the details in life that we all too often fail to recognise. Thanks for the enlightenment and teaching me to appreciate this building better.
