Great pic!

Yeah I'm back, wow.... as usual great work. Sam, once I have the funds I'm paying for a ticket to Hawaii so you could take some nice photos there if you are still around.

Great light balance.

Posted by effat at February 5, 2004 09:08 AM

wow, amazing, looks like gotham city.

Posted by tintinesque at February 5, 2004 10:16 AM

Awesome colors (or lack of!)... Brilliant shot!

Posted by cloudshift at February 5, 2004 10:18 AM

I just can't figure out how you managed to have a 1/2 second exposure without any blurring. Do you just carry a tripod with you at all times?

Olá, sou do Brasil....excelente fotografia...fantastic!

Why don't you release your pictures as background sized? That would be amazing... Then people could have a new background every day!

Posted by eAi at February 5, 2004 12:07 PM

I love this. Would you send me a high-res version of this?

Posted by Lisa at February 5, 2004 02:14 PM

on the second thought: vertigo!

PS: this shot is so real, I can't look at for more than a minute; it makes me dizzy.

Posted by hossein at February 5, 2004 02:48 PM

It looks like a shot of a Batman cartoon turned into a real picture

Posted by Ali at February 5, 2004 04:09 PM

Oddly, this is the first electronic image (ever)that made me dizzy. I am trying to figure out why that is, but I am getting more dizzy as I ponder. I think it is a good photo, but the sky looks fake...like you blacked it out in photoshop.

Love the T.O. pics.

I like this picture. The banister of the entrance puts the buildings even further away. Good shot.

Posted by Oliver at February 5, 2004 06:32 PM

Attractive and different. Sam do you have a contract with TTC?:)

Posted by hadi at February 5, 2004 08:58 PM

i second that batman comment xD the man bat is great, and so is the picture :)

Posted by ecila at February 5, 2004 10:14 PM

The TTC(SUBWAY) sign can be seen as a huge billboard between the two buildings or a passage way between the two ... very interesting photo.

Your "low resolution" image is already 89K -- that would eat up a lot of people's bandwidth quickly. If I were you I would charge a small fee for a higher bandwidth version: if people really want a 600K version, let them put a dollar in your tip jar.

Posted by Frank at February 6, 2004 09:37 AM

Amazing shot! I too would love to get a high rez version - and a donation system would be a great idea.

Posted by Paul at February 6, 2004 11:27 AM

This is good. Why don't you start a mailing list so all of us can receive your pictures daily without consuming your bandwidth?

Posted by Sunny at February 6, 2004 11:43 AM

Sunny, depending on his account, email might be considered part of his bandwidth.

Send him some money, if you really want better copies of his pictures.

Posted by Frank at February 6, 2004 01:07 PM

STUNNING!

Posted by Jacques at February 7, 2004 04:42 PM

Sam-

I've never doled out my hard earned cash to anyone except Public Radio, but if you started a tip jar, I'd throw a couple of bucks in. You could put a link to it on every page (by comments) to remind people that their enjoyment costs you money. I actually feel guilty knowing that. How much extra are you paying in bandwith fees?

Posted by brad at February 8, 2004 11:40 PM

This is a great shot! The upgoing lines are very interesting to my eye. The lights in some of the rooms are making giving a nice detail to this picture.

Posted by Rolle at February 9, 2004 11:06 AM

whoa. honestly this is the only photoblog left in my favourites (dwindled down from about 6 or so...) amazing eye for photography!

i heart this pic :) and i think i hear the batman theme in my head; i'm not joking... i hope another request for a 1024x768 wouldn't hurt.

Posted by r-yan at February 9, 2004 08:57 PM

Thanks Sam for the great photos. I would very much appreciate a high res version of this shot as it is truly fantastic.

Keep up the great shots!

Love this photo.

Could you mail me a hi-res version? I'd like to have this as a desktop photo.

Very much appreciated.

TIA.
