What a wonderful final image Sam! I had to leave viewing today until quite late. Thanks for the joy!!
One small(??) consideration as you continue your journey.... I have thoroughly admired your creative talent, it's awesome...
But it is even more enhanced so often by your creative mind!
The titles of your photos added soooo much to the whole experience, so often. I don't think you probably have any idea of what a contribution your " thought processes" by way of your titles gave to the viewing experience.. Don't lose that piece, please.

Sam, thank you for all of the wonderful work you've done. I still remember when a friend introduced me to your site back in 2004, when I was 16 years old. I clicked back and looked through all of your archives and was so inspired that I decided to I started my own photoblog. That was a major turning point in my life which lead me to pursue creative work. Looking back, I'm sure my life would have been completely different if I had never discovered your work. I'm so grateful for the work you've done so far and look forward to how it will evolve in the future.
All the best to you and your family,

Thanks, Sam!

Kind of a sad day :-/

It was kind of a coincidence that I starting traveling to Toronto and Canada in mid 2003 (June 2003 to be precise) - mainly due to my IT project but also more and more for pleasure. So since then I was looking at this site more or less daily (at least 2,3 times a week).

Even when I stopped traveling to Canada after 2006 and now do only come over once in 3-5 years for holiday, I always enjoyed your pictures which remind me a lot of "my Canadian fun years" between 2003 and 2006.

I will follow you to the other sites. Keep on posting!

Cheers,
Martin from Germany

Hey Sam,

I want to say congratulations on the dedication and commitment that it took for you to keep posting images on a daily basis all these years. I can't think of anything that I do on a daily basis, with you however, there was always an image for us to enjoy rain or shine.

I first discovered your site after working with you in 2006 and I immediately made it my homepage and have been enjoying your photos everyday since. I've learned so many subtle things from viewing your images daily that it's inspired me to buy my very own DSLR and take on photography as a hobby, which is very fulfilling to me- who knew.

Anyway, I look forward to what the future holds for you, and finally getting together again and hanging out.

All the best,

Hi there,

I've recently started an experimental mini-website called "daily dose of imagery", so fire up your browsers and bookmark this link:

http://sam.topleftpixel.com

As the title suggests, the idea is that I'll post one photo every day no matter what, and visitors will be able to leave comments for any image. The site will eventually turn into a gallery of photos of different subjects, and will be automatically archived by categories. You can always check out the older pictures by using the lower left buttons, or by going directly to the archives section.

Visit the site everyday while you're having your morning coffee and leave your kind or cruel comments. Hopefully they'll help me make better pictures!

Thanks,
