black-and-white at its best!
thanks!
I love the shadows from the fire escape.
Posted by Peruby at April 17, 2013 05:38 AMVery, very cool!
Love the hard light, deep blacks, and the composition.
Posted by stephane at April 17, 2013 06:14 AMThere is one drawing by this artist from the Netherlands... M.C.Escher...
Posted by petaaa at April 17, 2013 07:00 AMWow! You sure arrived there for the right shadows. I doubt you could have picked a more dramatic moment of the day to deal with those otherwise ugly fire escapes. This makes art of them. And a great small crowd to make it live. You've done it again, Sam.
Super cool shot.
Love it. Even with all that great light and contrast, the sign is still the focal point.
Posted by Jeremy at April 17, 2013 09:30 AMI love this image, so many famous performances at this hall (most memorably for me, Rush). The contrast of those shadows is stunning.
Posted by bluefunk at April 17, 2013 01:22 PMOne of your loveliest yet, and I have been following since 2003 :) Will miss your daily posts.
Posted by Nilou at April 17, 2013 04:12 PMLooks like you skipped off work again to capture this at the "golden hour." ;-)
Posted by GBC at April 17, 2013 07:04 PMThe first thing I noticed was the duo walking East across the photo.. the tension in their hands.. There is something so spectacular that you are capturing.. I can't believe our days are numbered here. I really appreciate what you've been doing Sam, you've profoundly influenced so many.
