Comments: $5 canadian

Lovely! You know I dig any macro shot.
Aha, did you know that Photoshop CS doesn't let you scan and process any currency or bank note?

Interesting shots... What lens did you use for these? EFS 18-55mm?

Cool. I like the eye shot especially. Would look great hanging on a wall with some suitable slogan below it. :)

those turned out really nicely.. it's amazing how much detail is on them when you really look closely at them like that. we have great bills..

First, great d.o.f. and texture sam. Second, I too heard that PhotoShop CS doesn't accept images of currency (why its scanning my images in the first place is what I'M worried about). Lastly, I'm wondering about the phrase you used, "extreme close-up". I've only heard that used in conjunction w/ movies, and "macro" used w/ photography. Now I'm really curious to know what the difference is or if it's just a preference thing.

I found it interesting:

"Advertising agency creative director Ann Shelbourne found she could save a bank-note image in an earlier version of Photoshop and open it without trouble in Photoshop CS.

Other Photoshop CS users said they had successfully imported bank-note images by invoking Photoshop from another Adobe product or by scanning an image in pieces and reassembling it in Photoshop.

The ease with which people seemed to be eluding the anti-counterfeiting software left some wondering why Adobe had included it in the first place."

I have to say that I love the eye picture as well! I've been a fan of your site for some time now--maybe three or four months--and this is the first time I've posted... just would like to say that I appreciate your talent and the fact that you share it with others. I look forward to seeing what shard of beauty you'll be sharing each day. Again, I say thanks and keep up the Great work!

Ugly money, I knew it! Very interesting pictures and indeed they are 'extreme'.

This is an amazing shot!! I have become a daily view of your sight far a good amount of time now. Keep up the good work!

the difference between a macro shot(photography) and an extreme close up (ECU)(cinematography) is that in the ECU the frame can be a tiny detail of an object that is very far away. i.e. a tiny object viewed through a telescope, but still revealing a tiny detail of the object. (at least thats the way I remember it)

keep on shooting the great stuff you do!

Very interesting. In further proof that Canada is a much cooler place than the US (Michael Moore has convinced me that I really want to be a canadian) I took a couple of shot of a beat up $20 bill and posted them on my blog over at http://www.bradknapp.com

Once again, same photographs as mailed on 17 of January 2004. just get out and shot some fresh subject please!

FOR BRADKNAPP:HEY BRAD,I was born and raised in Canada and depending on what you think is "cool",I have to strongly disagree with you that 'Canada is such a cool place to live'.Our federal Liberal Gov't (and probably "Hollywood-values-Michael-Moore")would like my kids to think that Ozzie Osbourne sending his son to a whorehouse is "normal family life".(According to Media reports,Ozzie did this as a gift for his teenage son.)My Canada is "on track" to becoming a nation of Ozzie Osbourne families.I'd trade citizenship with you if I could!
