Posted by Vanella at November 14, 2012 03:13 AM

Lovely - but you should have called it "Winter never comes" or " Autumn never ends".
I'll get my coat now...

I was so focused on what you were saying I read the entire message, then glanced up and said to self "Looks very nice....hey! That leaf is MOVING!" LOL!

Posted by peruby at November 14, 2012 06:48 AM

It looks fine via RSS in Reeder on a Mac running Mountain Lion. In other words, the leaf is moving.

Posted by Richard at November 14, 2012 07:15 AM

Hi Sam,

unusual among your posts, but nice as usual.

Posted by Brent at November 14, 2012 08:27 AM

The picture displays fine, but it is a different size and wrecks the formatting of your website, at least for me (mac, safari). just a heads up!

Posted by Alana at November 14, 2012 08:31 AM

Very cool. You must have used "Echograph" to create this. I just bought it, but have yet to try it.

Your timing is delightful. The Oxford Dictionary has just announced the word of the year, and it is "gif". P.S. I will desperately miss the daily dose when you stop.

Posted by edmee at November 14, 2012 08:59 AM

Worked fine in my google reader :) Testing out the word of the year?

Posted by Brian at November 14, 2012 09:01 AM

That's kind of eery with only one branch/leaf moving!
(This worked through Google Reader.)

Posted by Dalila at November 14, 2012 09:03 AM

Can't quite figure out how you did that - but totally amazing! Thanks for always making it interesting

Posted by Rex at November 14, 2012 09:08 AM

Your gif shows in my daily email but without the animation. Email client is outlook. Neat idea.

Posted by rovais at November 14, 2012 10:13 AM

How eerie (almost creepy) is having those leaves fluttering on that tree!!!!! How the devil did you do that??

Posted by Linda at November 14, 2012 10:14 AM

It displays fine in Google Reader on Chrome. It should display fine in most places, too. GIF is a common format that has been around since before the dawn of time, when the old ones still roamed the world and it was new. The old ones now slumber, and their heartbeats change the frames on GIFs on the internet.

Posted by nonesuchplace at November 14, 2012 10:17 AM

I can see it just fine - and OH MY GOSH - I didn't notice the leaf until I came to this page - LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!!

Posted by Patty at November 14, 2012 10:20 AM

Posted by Mark at November 14, 2012 11:13 AM

Posted by Henry Louis at November 14, 2012 11:23 AM

Wow, I thought it just another beautiful picture, until I took a second to really look at it. The leaf is swaying! Wow! Very Nice Sam!

Posted by Faysal at November 14, 2012 11:32 AM

Very cool and perfect for a day like today. The image showed up for me via an email subscription (Gmail).

Posted by Clare at November 14, 2012 11:36 AM

love love love it... so many only think of gifs as those silly old school emoticons, but you can actually do so many sophisticated things with them... this is probably my favorite thing on DDI, ever!
