Comments: The Aisles

At 80 I wouldn't make it down one aisle before needing a set of wheels to go on. Not for me. Maybe on a Segway.

Do they supply roller skates so shoppers can get around more easily? LOL. Otherwise, even going to look at stuff would involve a significant trek.

This photo is great. Stores like supermarkets are central to our lives, but they rarely get photographed for non-corporate purposes. It would seem strange to see someone taking photos in a grocery store, and an employee might even confront you about it. It's private property after all. Nonetheless, they can be spaces with visual interest.

These stores may eventually change form and design, so photos like this one may be quite interesting to future generations. To us, it may be the most banal imagery, but to future generations who may shop differently, it will probably be of interest. Yet relatively few such images exist in non-corporate collections. And corporations often don't take their history seriously.
