Is this post-precessing or did you have a gradual filter mounted on the lens? The sky looks amazing!
Posted by Ioana at January 30, 2011 04:36 AMI've really enjoyed this website for the last 3/4 months, it's been my home page. This picture has prompted me to say 'hi, love the photos'.
Posted by Tom at January 30, 2011 05:34 AMLove how the smoke blends in to the sky like clouds.
Posted by Raj at January 30, 2011 06:03 AMLooks like a picture on infrared-film. I like the three-dimensional scene.
Posted by Ralf at January 30, 2011 08:48 AMThat's not smoke, it's steam from the [frequently stinky] Pacific cardboard recycling plant on Midland.
Posted by scruss at January 30, 2011 11:29 AMLove your blog & this photo, but a small nit - cause that's the way I am :) it's condensation not smoke coming from those stacks. It's why I like the photo, actually, the juxtaposition of man's condensation from the stacks with God's in the clouds.
Posted by Warren Rust at January 30, 2011 12:47 PMI am from an industrial/harbour city myself and this photo is pleasing to the eye! I like the scene and its captured nicely!

The grad effect is most likely due to the windshield of the car.
Cool photo!
Posted by Josh at January 30, 2011 11:31 PMCold and beautiful. The white tops of the buildings against the sky and the smoke make for an amazing composition.
Posted by Evil Cliffie at January 31, 2011 09:36 AMBeautiful shot. It's a perfect mix between urban and nature. Thanks for sharing.
Posted by Josh at February 1, 2011 12:19 PMIf this was shot through the windshield of a car, was the factory in front of the car on the highway, or on the side of the highway? If on the side of the highway, was the car perpendicular on the highway?
Posted by Nelson at February 1, 2011 04:00 PMthe windshield is really clean. :P
