Posted by Tom at January 24, 2011 03:08 AMSpectacular! The background colours make it :-) We had our UK winter, few inches of snow, total disruption as usual! I guess the Canadian experience will last a bit longer and things will still work - like trains and roads :-)

Posted by mafredv at January 24, 2011 10:50 AMThis picture has a very nice mood, Sam. A warm glow that obviously has no warmth. You have captured the essence of a northern winter. Well done.
Posted by Russ at January 24, 2011 10:57 AMAmazingly this looks like it's an upside down image of the new sculpture at the National Gallery in Ottawa on Nepean point - One Hundred Foot Line, which symbolizes a branch-less tree. It's made of stainless steel and this sure looks like steel in this light and the sky oddly here looks upside down - so .... Neat! I think I like your picture better than the sculpture which I feel is a bit of a scam by the gallery director to feed his New York artist friend. Hard to say.
Posted by Hugh Petrie at January 24, 2011 11:27 AMAmazing, Sam! The sunset looks like a canvas painting that contrasts wonderfully with the crispness of the icicle.
Posted by William at January 24, 2011 11:30 AMWow! I am awestuck! Maybe there is something to be said about winter after all.
