Comments: biker and streetcars

Another 15 minutes of fame. After reading your "about" link I see that you have had plenty of them. With captures like this you deserve them all and more.

Please, could You briefly describe your photo retouching process? I mean Your photos, virtually every single one taken on the street, have such great colours and contrast! I'd really appreciate it.

Greetings from Poland,

Alex

Cool shot! Totally urban.

Think how excited he was to find he could possibly be an international ddoi celebrity! Even if ddoi only goes out to CN and the USA it would be international, but it would be interesting to hear how many countries you reach.

Great photos, Sam! I love the way you capture Toronto through your lens.
And biker guy, if you're reading, I just wanted to say I like your colorful bike :)

What a great pic.. Such beautiful composition and caught in the right moment. Carla

Have you had people get angry at you before, for taking their picture?

Posted by davei at January 14, 2011 01:15 PM

I just have to say, I love ddoi. I check it every day, and it's photos like this one, they just "capture" that feeling of Toronto. I live in Los Angeles now, but grew up in Toronto, and this photo totally gives me warm fuzzy feeling of being at home.

Cool shot (pin sharp!) and a lovely story to go with it

It's almost as though he's riding one of Greg Curnoe's bikes - And I love the face coverings.
Three street cars, too! Who says winter is colourless?!! Another great one, Sam!

Great photo. Not just ones on this post, all of them on your whole site. They provoke my emotions. Thanks for them...

Posted by slot makineleri at January 14, 2011 02:48 PM

ddoi is short for "daily dose of imagery"

Posted by John Robinson at January 14, 2011 03:43 PM

To the cyclist (if he reads this): What jacket is that? I'm a cyclist too and I'd like a jacket with a lock band.

To everyone else:
I'm a American photographer who's favorite city is Toronto, so this blog is double good for me.

Awesome picture! I saw Sam from afar once at a Toronto photo contest where he was a judge. Too bad I was too shy to go and say hi, but it did feel like watching a celeb from far =)

I really like this photo. It needs to be printed and up on a wall.

How does the bike guy know you? I come here everyday viewing amazing photos like the biker guy but wouldn't recognize you on the street. Do you have personal pics or something?

Posted by Brian at January 19, 2011 11:01 PM

Toronot is very proud of you Sam. Love your work from a fellow Torontonian.

Posted by TheTigerTek at January 20, 2011 12:41 PM

I love how clear his eyes are. He does look like he's about to pound you. Good thing he didn't. :)
