Comments: tall eclipse

Pretty wonderful! Great job putting these images together.

In fact the scrolling is great because it give you the sensation of the light getting darker as the moon shades.
Thanks

So creative.

Posted by Hanif at December 23, 2010 04:14 AM

Spectacular, Sam. It's a great idea and you have done it perfectly.
This should be printed and hung in a gallery!

Posted by Pedro at December 23, 2010 04:34 AM

Beau-ti-ful Sam! Love the creativity you put into your pictures (edits actually). You were lucky that the moon was quite big this particular evening. Normally I don't get this size with a 200mm.

Posted by Marc at December 23, 2010 04:52 AM

Thats a very cool way of showing the eclipse.

Posted by Raj at December 23, 2010 04:57 AM

Don't fret about the end user scrolling ... this is a nice composite.

This is brilliant. You are so lucky you had clear skies. We had cloud..... Xxxx

Posted by Fashionistable at December 23, 2010 10:02 AM

Hahahaaa...
This is fantastic. This is even better than the one from yesterday. Brilliant. I'd need really high walls to hang it up. But it would make for the coolest of posters! Or maybe even a long dress Print?!!!? That might be an idea!!!

Totally unique presentation. You're good!

Posted by Jim at December 23, 2010 03:32 PM

Are these photos flipped? I took 3 photos that night and the straitions on the left side show to the lower right and the bright spot on the top right appear on the lower left. I am intrigued. wa sthsi taken through a telescope?

Posted by nid at December 23, 2010 03:58 PM

Wonderful. This is a great presentation. I missed the whole thing it was cloudy here.

Posted by Frida at December 23, 2010 04:16 PM

Great photos! Thanks :)
Where I am, the moon was bright copper-red in color while all this was taking place.
Say -- Merry Christmas, too ! :)

Posted by Elaine at December 24, 2010 12:53 AM

Very nice...I enjoyed the scrolling with my new mighty mouse :)

One of my favourite captures of the Lunar eclipse. Great work!

Posted by Mack at December 24, 2010 05:41 AM

Isn't it a strange coincidence that the diameter of the shadow of the earth that covers the moon during a total lunar eclipse is exactly the same diameter as that of the moon itself, as if one "looney" was covering another?
What are the odds that such a phenomenon happens by pure accident?
Is this not convincing proof that there is a Creator?

Posted by Martin at December 24, 2010 08:23 AM

Coooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool! :)

Posted by Clarinda at December 28, 2010 09:51 AM

You did a great job - more impressed with the guy who suggested this for a dress than the one who saw it as proof of god. ;-)

Posted by Krys at January 9, 2011 04:59 AM

wow it is amazing..
how can you take like this!?

Posted by Lucy Lee at January 27, 2011 02:35 AM

My 6 year old daughter is and has always been totally into the phases of the moon-you can ask her on any given day what stage the moon is in and she can tell you!! We are moving into a new house and I would love to decorate her new bedroom around this photo-as of now it is not available for sale but if you could contact me about how I could purchase a print I would be grateful!!

Posted by Sarah Carey at August 25, 2011 10:43 PM

Can I buy this for my bedroom?? PPPppppppleeease!! It's absolutely amazing!
