As always, a brilliant image and testament to your considerable talents, Mr. Javanrouh.

Though I live in California presently, I grew up in the '60s & '70s visiting my grandparents in North York, spending a lot of time on the subway. Your photo captures the beautiful past on your side of the platform - the gorgeous color combinations, different in each station, of tile versus typeface - and the hideous modern redecoration on the far platform, the replacement tiles resembling mutant snakeskin.

Riding those trains with my grandfather was a significant art experience for me. I marveled at each station's unique color scheme and the lettering announcing each one (Gill Sans or Johnson, either a reflection of English mass transit graphics as you'd expect in Anglophilic TO.) was certainly the genesis of my abiding interest in typography.

So much data, twinned commentary of the past and present and most certainly a decisive moment captured. Nice one, Sam!
