Posted by Salman at October 6, 2010 03:52 AMThat's magic. Great idea and perfectly executed.
Posted by Kevin at October 6, 2010 04:50 AMAre sure this is Toronto? The pedestrians waited for the walk signal before they crossed the road. It was an excellent video that blended the seasons flawlessly.
Posted by Andy at October 6, 2010 05:30 AMI love how the video transitions from a bright, clear summer day to a snowy winter day. You can almost feel the cold as you watch the snow fall.
Great idea!

Posted by Kris at October 6, 2010 08:08 AMHoly CRAP! I was not expecting that at all. Amazing, so good. How the HELL did you get the exact same shot twice? That's meticulous, and worth it.
Posted by Scott at October 6, 2010 09:20 AMVery clever, I really like it
Posted by Pete at October 6, 2010 09:59 AMAwesome, well worth the hours of effort this would have taken!
Nicely done!
Patience at the beginning right? The city moves, slowly or fastly, but the only constant is the movement.

Posted by Valery at October 6, 2010 12:22 PMI have to repeat the question: How did you get the same framing? Crop & align it in post?
Posted by Matt R at October 6, 2010 12:26 PMThat was great, though a little short.
Posted by A.R. at October 6, 2010 04:48 PMthat's really cool, the transition is very well done with the tram.

Posted by yushu at October 6, 2010 08:35 PMStunning job in the alignment of the video between the two seasons. Awesome job as we regularly see here.
Posted by ROB at October 6, 2010 09:41 PMBoring? Nothing you do is ever boring.
Posted by Kikipotamus at October 6, 2010 09:46 PMExcellent Sam! Didn't see that coming at all and you executed it flawlessly. Well done!

Posted by Aryan at October 7, 2010 09:26 AMWhat song is this? Great video!
Posted by chris at October 7, 2010 11:48 AMHi Sam,
I love this work visually; but the music, I think, doesn't suit it. It's nice on its own but here it's too stressful. Something dreamier and slower, accentuating the shift to winter, would fit better, I think. I am telling you this because I first saw this on mute a couple times. When I turned on the volume I was disoriented by the music and it took away much of my easy enjoyment of the piece.
I've been a close follower of DDOI for more than 5 years, longer than any other blog I follow. I was hooked on DDOI after seeing your Oct 31, 2005 photo.
Finally, I love your recent "meta" commentary on getting people's permission for shots. More peoplescapes like that one (and today's) in DDOI would be awesome.

i log on to your site daily. This has been my favorite. What's most amazing is that you found a moment with bike rider in both weathers. Keep up the good work! Peace.
