And wont the parent be happy to hear how the childs school buddies grabbed the shoes and did this? Time to smash heads. Where's the baseball bat?
And they think it's funny. Idiots!

Those are some schnazzy shoes! I like the wires in this photo.

Uh... Well, being from Vancouver I see these kinds of shoes a lot. Lot's of urban legends around what they mean. ;) In any case, it is hard to shoot them in a way that is satisfying (I've tried many times - submitted an attempt as one of my 12x12yvr marathon shots). This is the single best 'shoes on a wire' photo that I've ever seen. It's perfect - captures the height, captures the shoes large enough that they aren't swallowed, and captures the mess of telephone lines. Colour photo. And - great shoes!

In many countries in latinoamerica, those shoes hanging means a "zone" for drug dealing... like a territorial marking.

It's Kensington Market, so the drug dealing this probably makes sense in this case also.

Aw, there's a sad story of a kid getting bullied behind this one. But heh anyway.

There was an other picture like this in the past on ddoi. I explained it then in a comment. In Detroit/Pontiac, shoes on the wire are a gang message, usually a murder. When I shoot Hugh Petrie, I'll hang his shoes on the wire! If he has anything with laces..... Yuk Yuk just joking
Kids being kids Hugh, relax.
Made for a great picture, enjoy!

Shafer... in the D
