awesome. perfect depth--draws you right into the Polaroids.
Posted by Shawn Bierman at May 28, 2010 08:45 AMI wonder, did you manipulate the color so that it looks like a polaroid? I once tried that on a Dairy Queen (70s film colors) and was reasonably successful.
Posted by Justin at May 28, 2010 10:34 AMDid you wait until someone rode by on a BICYCLE before taking this photo or is it only a coincidence that there happens is be the ever-present BICYCLE image in this photo as well as so many previous photos?
I'm beginning to believe you have a BICYCLE fetish.
Strange!
From the angle of the window, you should be able to see whoever took the photo. I've heard recently that photography is so advanced nowadays that it has replaced paintings because you're able to change so many factors to have the picture come out artfully the way you would like it.
Posted by Toronto Movers at May 28, 2010 07:37 PMI like the strings of poloroids in the window. Also like the way YOUR photograph as a whole has a polaroid feel to it. Nice.
I do wish the lefthand side of this image had a little more (or less) going on in it, though, because the overall composition feels a bit disjointed to me.
Posted by k at May 29, 2010 12:29 AMMagically full of many things, cropped perfectly to show nothing the same reflected. The golden shirt on the cyclist is an eye-magnet. The strong vertical anchors the many things and establishes surprising balance. A once-only shot, born of the moment -- a cool tribute to the idea of the polaroids.
This playful composition confirms it, Sam: your eye and technique are tops.
Posted by molly at May 29, 2010 09:40 AMcongratulation sam.
i'm pleased about choosing your photo in word photography.
