Posted by Joe at May 17, 2010 05:41 AMInteresting idea! The iPod Touch under apple is kinda neat too! I find it interesting that you took this shot with a Canon camera and are using a Nikon Flash! ;-) Were you trying to cover two wars in this shot?
Posted by Kianoosh at May 17, 2010 06:50 AMThis is fake war photography as this is not the original apple apple :)
Posted by rogerpfaff at May 17, 2010 07:26 AMvery nice.
I like it : )
Very clever. I love the depth of field.

Posted by Luis Gomez at May 17, 2010 09:42 AMLove it. I've been a fan of ddoi since the summer of 2004 (when I set it as my homepage and never looked back). Thanks for being awesome all these years.

Posted by Krzysiek at May 17, 2010 10:08 AMHi Sam,
I've been visitng your site for quite a while now and I enjoy every single shot. I have a critism on this one though (as a viewer, not as a photographer, cuz I am not!). By merging two photos the texture of the table looks weired, cuz at two locations, near the apple and near the flash it looks sharp and elsewhere it looks blurry. Meybe when merging two pfotos, you could use out of focus photos for the table.
Ha! What a great idea--made me laugh.
Posted by Michael Gowin at May 17, 2010 02:18 PMFlash version is greate =). Other one I didn't like.
Posted by Edward at May 17, 2010 03:38 PMI really like that iPod Touch beneath the apple. The "Surreal" focus is stunning!
Posted by Vafa at May 17, 2010 06:15 PMbonsoir,
an original illustration of this controversy, relevant and fun..bravo!
Come on Sam!!!
It shows from the photo, on which side you stand :)
No only the Flash is totally dominant, but the selection is also dubious!!! a SB800 against an apple which is neither full red , nor completely round!!! :)
You couldn't show a 430 EX against a bright red apple huh?!!!
Posted by Mehrad at May 17, 2010 07:01 PMLooks to me like you've done a masterful job of merging the two shots to have two sharp focus points in the same image. And so what if the table looks a tad weird because of it. Clever idea. I suppose the Nikon flash is a buddy worker's?
Posted by Hugh Petrie at May 17, 2010 07:57 PMVery good! :-D
Posted by Chris G at May 17, 2010 10:12 PMIts really nice.
Posted by Spenco Insoles at May 18, 2010 02:28 AMTable does indeed look a bit odd in between the subjects... but what a neat idea ;-)
Posted by Mike Reys at May 18, 2010 02:48 AMI really like the two focus lines! Great shot and great idea as always.
Posted by djib at May 18, 2010 06:01 AMGreat idea! :-)
