Comments: speeding landscape

did this come out of the camera as this or was it's dynamic range compressed?

if a) is right, which camera?

The TGV goes up to 320 km/h in normal operation. Higher speeds were reached on tests only.

Hi there from France,

i've subscribed to the RSS feed of your website.

Just to tell you that TGV is moving at a max of 320 km/h, even if technically it can go faster.

& go on publishing nice photos!

500 km/h is only reached by custom trains, modified to break the speed record on rail.

Usual speed with passengers on the Paris-Strasbourg track is 320 km/h.

Nice shot, as usual. I'm living in Strasbourg, I hope you had time to visit the city and make beautiful shots.

Awesome sky!

Great picture!
The TGV indeed detains the speed record for trains on wheels (575km/h or 357 mph), but on conventional journeys with passengers the top speed is actually around 320 km/h (200 mph).

Great image! Like the colors.

Good sky!

I'm really loving photos taken from vehicles at the moment. I really enjoy taking them too, it's almost as though you know it's not going to be technically perfect so the pressure's off. Trouble is, I worry that when I look back at the pictures my response to them is coloured by how I felt when I was taking them, and that to other people they're just a messy picture.

What a beautiful scene and shot. Almost perfectly framed, it shows great depth and expansiveness.

Stunning clouds! I'm curious what the yellow fields are; something in bloom I'm guessing.

Worth it for the cloud alone. I have been surprised by some of your shots from moving vehicles. I recall a field of pumpkins that was a total winner.

The field of pumpkins is still my wallpaper.

In this picture, while the sky is great, I think it's the brilliant yellow strip at the horizon that makes it.

I can just imagine what a great hot would be if there was a tornado or storm approaching across the field.

Nice, making me crave a trip to france.

Love this shot. I think the yellow is rape from which rape/canola oil comes.
