nice movement. :)
Posted by lomovera at February 22, 2010 02:51 AMNow this is more like it, an interesting photograph instead of a banal still life. The five people are balanced perfectly in the frame, and one wonders what the flamboyant coat wearer is doing in the scene. The flat light, unaware facial expressions, and spot-on framing make this a wonderful shot.

Posted by Roland at February 22, 2010 06:19 AMI have to say, you take some of the most interesting images of this city I've ever seen. This is a perfect example. It amazes me how you can take such a simple scene and turn it into a work of art. Fantastic.

Posted by frank at February 22, 2010 07:26 AMLove this pix spacialy. In addition the different contrast between the people are fantastic. The Corner store sign frames the picture. From a sociological perspective I find it interesting the distance between everyone.
Ilike

thx..nice shot
This is such a captivating photo. At first you don't really see it, but it is framed so well, with the door of the corner store at the centre and the people walking around the "view". The fur coat is almost shocking, and the man's grimace adds some interest. Bravo!
Posted by Joel at February 22, 2010 01:33 PMThere is a lot about this shot that holds my attention. The colours, the clarity, and the pristine colour of the road and sidewalks.
A vibrant slice of life, somewhat removed from the beaten track.
Fantastic image of different people with their different styles and goals that you can only wonder about. The coat at right might be warm but I sure wouldn't wear it :)
Posted by Mark Johnson at February 22, 2010 03:24 PMThey're all standing on their left foot. Amazing shot!
Posted by Denise at February 22, 2010 07:16 PMthat's lots of depth-of-field for f1.8
Posted by groofus at February 23, 2010 01:37 AMReally like this one. The framing, movement, and contrast all contribute. There's a real unity of form and content here. Nicely done.
Posted by K at February 24, 2010 12:19 AMIs that real fur?! :-)
Great shot Sam.
I really love this shot of different people just going about their daily lives in a local, neighbourhood context. You should do more photography of this style.
