Excellent title ;-)
Posted by Frida at October 3, 2009 03:51 AMWith that mess on the wall the monitors almost seem to be eyes watching the mess. Not the most decorous spot in TO. As always you have an eye for the mess as well as the beauty. Humans seem to have a problem keeping up with tidying the mess they make where even cats and dogs bury their feces as they go.
Posted by Hugh Petrie at October 3, 2009 11:07 AMI am a regular visitor to your site for about 2 years now. This image reminded me of an "out of context" project i did in adv. photography class my senior year of high school in which i took an ancient CRT monitor and put it in the woods surrounding my house. Unfortunately, the prints are huge and i don't have access to a dark room to show you them, but they looked very similar to this picture. Great minds think alike, no?
Your work is extremely well done. I really get a sense of the city through your photographs. It goes so far beyond the buildings and beautiful sky formations.

Posted by John at October 3, 2009 08:03 PMthe day mine die will be a sad one.
but never ever will they end up like this :D
The two CRT's remind me of the stuffed animals and toy monsters I place in front of the television set now and then so they can catch up on the news of the day.
Perhaps that's what these two were doing in The Market, watching the news via Tagging.

This made me smile. They almost seem to be admiring the view.
Our CRT's have been long gone. They may make a comeback since the LCD and Plasma are such energy hogs they may be outlawed under the guise of going green. California is currently proposing a law banning the large screen (50 inch and larger) LCD, Plasma, and rear projection TV's, so perhaps the smaller ones will be next. Or maybe they will just limit the number you can own. Interesting times we live in.
