Why didn't you pick the card up? There could be maybe some information (pictures, address, etc.) which would lead to the owner.

You should post the pictures on the card here:

Aww, you should've kept it so you could send some of the pictures to http://ifoundyourcamera.blogspot.com/ Sometimes, they're able to find their way back to their owners that way.

nice shot.

I'm surprised you didn't pick it up and keep it until you could safely look at its contents. You might have found a way to return it to the unfortunate owner. Odd to lose something like this but people do stick things in pockets that get lost when a hand is pulled out with something else - like dollar bills of which I've found a few beside parked cars as a rule. Meter money can be expensive when you throw it on the street.

Posted by ra at August 23, 2009 12:25 PM

Why didn't you take it?

Posted by Barry McKockiner at August 23, 2009 01:36 PM

Should have picked it up and sent what was on it to this blog:

Posted by Nicole at August 23, 2009 03:44 PM

What, you never took it? I always write my e-mail address on the card so that it can be returned if I loose it somewhere.
Btw, have a look at this site. Photo chaining, leaving camera memory cards in public places. http://www.photochaining.com/

... or perhaps a government top-secret ? It's happened in the UK, more than once :o)

Posted by Hendrik at August 23, 2009 05:43 PM

and you didn't check?

Posted by luke at August 23, 2009 09:06 PM

how could you not take it and check it out? OOHH MAN!

It was probably full of pictures of cats. seriously.

Posted by scott Webb at August 24, 2009 12:15 AM

this makes me a little sad! :(

great photo, though, just a little lonely!

and i don't think he would have been able to check it, because he would have had to format it to his camera, therefore the contents would be lost :(

Posted by cassandra at August 24, 2009 12:32 AM

Haven't you seen any of those movies about searching for the people on lost photographs? Could have been such an interesting undertaking, and you missed the chance:-)

Posted by Lucie at August 24, 2009 03:18 AM

...or perhaps some super secret government intel.

I have to say I don't know if I could have passed it up...I hope the owner found it.

I lost that disk and I have been looking for it. 382 5968 most of the time but if you can't try 879 6877 on weekends lol

Posted by Welrdelr at August 25, 2009 11:31 PM

oh man - you should have picked it up! I am sure there are ways to find the owner - or at least make an attempt.... Imagine how appreciative the owner would have been?

LOVE your site!
